Anybody here with SIP Viper XL experience? Looking at scooter lab results looks like it might move HP and torque peak to a lower rpm than Road XL.

Amended to include road 3.0 sport, one with dual pipes.

I have one on my PX210. I bought it last year, did some up jetting, did a test ride, upped the jetting again, did another short test ride and realized I needed to buy some bigger jets. The jets arrived in the mail, but I never got around to installing it. That was all about 6 months ago. I got busy with other scooter projects and haven't touched my PX210 since. Hopefully in a month or two I can get around to dialing the jetting the rest of the way.

*scooter and engine details are a 2005 PX150 with a 200 EFL swap. Thecylinder is the newer (sport version?) 210 top end, rotary valve, 30mil Dellorto, a cut crank (I can't remember which), 36T 4th, and a 24t clutch.

I did have a Sito+ at first on the scooter with that 210 kit. With that muffler, the top speed was right around a dismal 68~70mph...which ironically was about 3mph slower than my other PX200 (that still has a stock top end and a Sito+). I have yet to do a GPS top speed test with the Viper Box until I get it jetted in the rest of the way, but so far it has MUCH better acceleration!

FYI, the Viper Box did need a little bit of bending of the mounting bracket to get it to line up perfectly to my engine .

is that plumbed for an EGT and a O2 sensor as built?

it looks very aggressive and I'd be interested to see how it stacks up against the BGM sport

Yes, it is, really looking to get a 5800-6000 rpm power band.

looking at the build I shouldn't think that to be a problem! that's super cool that the EGT and O2 are built in.

I have a BGM on the way that I'm planning on running... on... uh, something? it's going on the mule so it may be an O-tune, or a 210 setup, or full tilt 210 with a reed setup.

but I'd be really interested to see how that rolls with your setup.

BGM is the other pipe I have been looking at, touring or sport?

I think it's a sport? I just bought it 2nd hand. it looks gnarly, super fat where it comes into the box.

first. be aware of ur weak piston and that its not a real race cylinder cause of the only 1 real port.

viper is overpriced too loud and hangs way too low
big belly doesnt mean good power

on m244 reed polinibox and megadella slx8
did perform better
checkout fmpboxtest

polinbox is ur best choice
even though it looks so boring
but only 20mm version pls

xl is sh.. in general. it never was a good exhaust
sr3 is good but it has only a 17.6mm tailpipe...

How do I know which Polini box has a 20mm exhaust when ordering?

I know it's not a race cylinder, wasn't looking for a race cylinder, I bought it for touring. That's also why I said I was looking for something to move peak power to 5800 RPM, not a peak of 8500-9000 rpm you have in your testing.

Speed isn't an issue, even without a main jet and only using up to half throttle I can get to 60mph. Reading I keep seeing about road XL says it likes a higher rpm, looking for something that likes a lower rpm for peak torque and hp.

You can't. Supposedly all now come with the bigger, 20mm tailpipe. The small tailpipe heat issue was present on first batches when the exhaust came out. I only had one of them come into my hands and I changed the tailpipe myself…

Sorry, I really only speak Hochscooter, not the Austrian dialect. Razz emoticon

Read it out loud, like an e.e. cummings poem and it'll make more sense, too.

I ordered a Polini box for my P200E(210cc) based on a lot of positive reviews but I wished I ordered a SIP Road 3. I did a lot of reading on scooter labs too. My biggest concern is fitment, just like someone mentioned, some exhaust boxes are huge and have a big belly.

Having had a Polini, a Sito plus a Malossi and a SR3 side by side at the same time here is the size comparisson just in case you need to narrow down your search:

Biggest is the Sito plus> SR3>Polini> Malossi. The last one is actually tiny. Fitment wise the Polini and the Malossi are perfectly tucked up against the frame. The Sito Plus fits well but it sits too low and the exhaust is very large. The SR3 is huge too, the main box fits well but the big 180 degree horizontal elbow is angle too low and it points down. Let me just add that it will hit the ground if you ride two people going over a speed bump or a garage ramp.

Good to know, just one of me I weigh about 170lbs. Price wise road 3 looks like a good exhaust also.

freakmoped - I watched your video, but which Exhaust did you like the best for the M244 Rotary for Touring?

I am also assuming when you made the video the Malossi Box was not out yet. Have you done anything with an M244 and the new"ish" Malossi Box? I have been happy with that on the VMC 177 but curious about the M244.
