So, the inception of this idea came to me whilst having a quibble and a bicker with a friend over beisbol in terms of put together a team. there may or may not have been drinks involved.

Ed note: there was, indeed, drinks involved.

anyway, I got to thinking and I thought it would be interesting to see how other people would build out their bench, as in their collection.

to note: you don't have to defend any position. but if you have specific, granular details as to why that particular bike I'm sure we'd all love to hear them.

to note: they don't have to be bone stock. you could say VBB with a P2 and a PK fork with a disc.

limit is 10 bikes.

in the interest of humility I'll go first.

in no particular order, and this assumes updated or upgraded bits and bobs:

PK- full tilt hooligan race set up. 15hp bmx bike

T5- bone stock or a 172 with just a pipe and upgear off a cosa.

S1- just a kit and some suspension work. clubman cuz I need that pop-pop-pop

S3 TV175- big modern barrel, big carb and tinny modern pipe

Primmy 125- the tried and true kit and noisemaker pipe, aftermarket carb on stock intake.

Super/sprint- really just a GTR, throw a kit, update the suspension. done.

GS160- only with the tail glove box. o-tune the motor, nothing else.

Rally- 180 for bragging rights. 200 in OG paint. if 180? some type of ridiculous modern paint. probably green.

ETS (only in blue), bone stock. maybe add a pipe

SS180- 100 point resto in white.

runners up: TS125, Jet200 in orche, cosa 200, SS90, bone stock completely OG P2, SX200 all original survivor, VBB on 8's with some modern barrel and a fork that's updated.

Astros rainbow - (you started the beisbol reference)

VNB Light grey X - 177, sip 3 60/8s
VBC yellow X - maybe a VMC? fix suspension? Keep it 8s
VMA2 orange X 1 needs new clutch, banana pipe. Otherwise keeping home stock.
Ss180 red X full resto in 1965 red upgraded ignition.
Motovespa GT160 light blue X - rally 180 engine

X = has

ET3 dark blue - stock OG … this is the only missing link.

Taste the rainbow!

Love the list, especially the less big ticket items I love seeing what people really like.

I'll bite on mine.

The Wu Tang wheelies.

Top of the list is the gs 150. I can't say how much I love those cowls and how the frame has a cutout perfectly for the bubble in the front of the engine cowl to form fit it. And what I assume is the carb access door below the seat where the sight glass is on more recent large frames. Stylistically the best looking vespa made. Bone stock I would be happy with it. I would also like it to be raw style frame with no paint or painted to look weathered metal.

A close second is the smallstate blue badge so that I could convert it to an ss90 replica with a crazy tuned engine. I would say an ss90 but I think that is almost certainly never going to happen with an original true one.

Next is another obvious one.. the gl150 cause I love the trap headset. I would tune this one.

I would also love an ss180 or ss200 mainly cause when I first started getting into these about 4-5 years ago, I just missed one on cl cause I didn't have the knowledge to recognize the models yet so I waffled on driving out to long island for it. Now I would jump on it if I saw it again for that price.

Final vespa is similar to greasy.. I want to build a small frame vespacross dirt race bike. Granted I've never done anything like that before, but if I built one I would definitely seek out a dirt bike track with open days and take it there to just race around casually and have so much fun.

Lambrettas I unfortunately don't know enough about, nor can I afford them when I see them for sale, but I would love a later lammy like a tv200, gp200 or jet 200. I love those style frames. Can't stand the older style frames.

I didn't know Vespas existed until the mid 80's. There was a kid at school who had a Honda Cub and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. When I described it to a friend, he pointed out a Vespa.

I guess it's because of this that the P200E has always been the archetypal scooter for me and I'm really glad to have one.

I love the vbb I kind of bought by accident for it's vintage lines and simplicity. It ticks the vintage box for me, so no need for anything rare or exotic from the vintage years.

The Stella is just a good functional scooter with upgrades I appreciate and even more so when the so-so Stella bits are replaced. I doubt I would be much happier with it if it were an actual PX.

I would love a Lambretta 200, any model. I just really like the way they look, probably more than Vespas.

Oh man - well I'm one dream bike in:

Dark blue ET3 lightly tuned for extra go- fast [check]

GS150 - everybody loves the 160 (as do i) but I love the look of the 150 so much

Red SS180, all stock

Bright yellow Rally 180

T5 tuned for extra go-fast, tatty and it's OK if it gets rock chips in the process

My list…

Want, wish I had:

SS180, stock, Blu Pavone…

SS90, stock, Red..

Rally 200, maybe Malossi 210, Grey…

ETS, bone stock, Red…

Have, future builds:

My blue P, Indonesian square headset, Malossi 221, etc. etc.

T5, Yellow, stockish look, Malossi 172, maybe later a Pipe Design expansion…

Sprint V. FrankenVespa, Bajaj Sprint frame, Cosa engine with hydraulic rear brake, Malossi kit, full DC, LEDs, 4pot radial caliper and PX or Cosa fork, maybe 120 or 130 tyre in the back, will start building it soon…

Cosa "Touring Couch", Malossi 2xx kitted engine, T5 headset (looks better), disc brakes on both wheels, 11" modern rims…

PK, probably happening soon, slow "roasting" current owner, definitely kitting it, expansion chamber, the works…

why 10? Everyone knows you can only have 2 running scooters at a time, so the normal limit is 3. my 10 would have to expand to motorcycles as well.

-Rally 200 in burgundy
-Early Jet 200 in ochre with the panel flashes
-ET3
-PK XL
-VBB in that baby blue
-GTS300
-Yamaha RD350/400
-Kawasaki H2 750
-Yamaha XS650
-A British cafe racer - Triumph, Norton, AJS, Vincent, Royal Enfield

I had a Lambretta D above but replaced it with the GTS. I love my GTS, don't hate!!

A bit esoteric but here we go,

GS150 VS1

'54 Hoffmann Vespa HC 125

Any rod model

Motovespa 125L - A base model with the VBB look, but a bit different.

An early smallframe with a crazy motor.

Mk1 LD150 - With portholes and side panel door, tuned right up. well as much as possible.

Series 1 TV175

SX200 or early Jet200 with SX side panels.

Maicoletta 227 - Would just love to try one.

Agrati Capri 100 - For sentimental reasons. Herselfs old man had one back in the day, and as a kid she would occasionally get a lift to school on it.

A wide body 150
GS 150 VS4
A Heinkel Tourist
A Series 2 Lambretta TV175
Two Rallys in pieces
Two p200s that aren't running
One P200 with a 200 horsepower electric motor
A PX200 from the very end of the line (2001?)

I'd accept this list mostly, I may as well learn me some Lammy . And a nice VB1 for my widebody, so make my GS a 160 please? Plus I'd swap out that odd Heinkel () for a stockish lo mile 50s coz I really GOTTA have me a smallie!

1968 180SS in original white, restored perfectly. (already own)

GS160- Gunmetal Gray (I know, never came in that color) with chrome cowls and mudguard. Maybe mirror assortment. (SEE: Quadrophenia album cover)

1959 VBA RED all original, including motor (already own)

1965ishy VBB Powder blue. Maybe a tweaked motor. backrest with a spare tire holder (Have a 1965 Bajaj made VBB, need to find Italian VBB frame to swap out)

I guess my PX125 I would like to have for a fun thrash around scooter. Bonus that its at my kids house in TX so I get to ride there too.

I owned a Rally once, loved that scoot- but probably will not own one again because no room.

The GS will have to wait until I have some fat cash to throw around because I want that one to be complete before I restore.

Not sure I want them all at once either, because I have a hard time finding the spare time to ride at all, much less four scoot all begging for attention.

There was one of these for sale on Craigslist here for cheap, and thought about buying it.

It was in so/so condition, and missing the side panels.

I regret not grabbing it.

**updated: list may include motorbikes, but may not exceed 50% of total**

Gick gets an allowance for tractors.

said list could be what you have, what you had, what you wish you had, what you currently have and are working on, or how you want to modify what you currently have.

there is no wrong answers, yes even modern bikes count.

but only 10. that's the limit.

carry on.

I barely made the requirement but I made it 😎. How about I give up the xs650 for a t5 to make it a bit more correct? The cafe racer will cover that vibe anyway.

And yes, I have a thing for the weird shit.
I wanted to write off the Motocompo as overpriced hype for so long, but after riding one and playing with it, they are indeed a masterfully engineered little machine.

This'll be fun

1) Sweet Allstate on 8s with 177 kit - check
2) P200, maroon, 60mm crank,full disc, original headset - in process
3) PX150 with 60mm crank, 177 kit - got a Stella that'll make a good platform
4) Motovespa GT160 light blue - gotta dig the trap headlight and the cut down leg shield.
5) Jet-200 in Ocra - I know nothing about Lammys but love this look
6) GL with P200 motor - Chris got this so I'm good

First three I want to be able to ride WOT for an hour and not blow up

You never lose money on them, no matter how much you dump into them.. unless you sell them.
