I grew up in the hills here in Lost Angeles.
Same story, with deer and frog collecting in winter creeks.

Still lots of coyotes and raccoons, but the deer are long gone

Took the VBB out about 30 miles to visit a friend. Inside this wonderful barn is a lift, a work area, a nice lounge area, a collection of 60's R series BMWs ( one with a sidecar) , a gorgeous 356 Porsche, a sweet Tii under resto, and a Rally 200 that I found for him some years ago. He wasn't home....

Should'a brought your lockpicks. Unless he knows exactly which ones to buy or avoid, big locks like that are frequently the easiest to pick. Not that I'd know...

Ha ha! Maybe embarrassing but perhaps it would have made for a great story for you and your friend to tell at the next party.

I've probably had anxiety dreams before where I've gotten caught doing something along those lines.

It was a windy day on the Oregon Coast, but cool so a lot of people inland were in the coast today. It made for a slow and easy ride up to Yachats.

Chris came over and brought his 63GL with the P200 engine.

A fantastic day for a ride...

I guess the surplus store were out of tanks when they got it.

Later F4 Phantom II. maybe an F4G. The early F4's didn't have a gun, because they were so certain that air combat would be all missiles.

Definitely had to be cooler without the fence.

This old wooden fortress and stockade remind a lot of some similar places in the American old west that I've seen.

This is Fort Vancouver in my state near the mouth of the Columbia River.

Fort Vancouver in Vancouver, WA along the shores of the Columbia River
Fort Vancouver was a fur trading post built in 1824 for the Hudson's Bay Company. It was the headquarters and supply depot for areas west of the Rocky Mountains. Named for Captain George Vancouver, the fort was located on the northern bank of the Columbia River in present-day Vancouver, Washington.

I'll have to swing by and get some pictures with the original fort here in Nashville. It's right on the river and has almost that exact same design.

Meanwhile, on the way back from getting eley's Stella across the First Start line. Despite it being stupid-hot, we started from "cases still split" and got it to "in the bike and running," but no cables connected yet.

Plus, he has a bunch of bad gas in the tank that he needs to get out, so we had to just squirt fuel into the carb to keep it running like one of those awesome crew-served ten-wheeled Indonesian Vespas.

To celebrate, I stopped off on my way home to snap a quick picture of the Weiss Liquors sign, which I've been wanting to get for a while.

Not my best work, but I was getting panhandled by two dudes while I did it, so added difficulty factor. I wanted to get it at night, though, and it came out better than I was expecting from a photo quality perspective.

And who doesn't love a drive-thru liquor store?

Particularly love the jug in the sign.

In my old neighborhood, the ice cream truck played Little Brown Jug, which I felt was false advertising.

For some reason, Nashville really likes its signs and street art. I think part of it is that the chains have largely stuck to the 'burbs, so the local businesses can still survive. It also appeals to the tourist dollars, which is fine so long as they don't hang around and be annoying.

When I was growing up, the ice cream truck played The Entertainer. Now, we get the standard Camptown Races.

I don't know how all ice cream truck drivers don't turn into complete psycho killers listening to that all day, every day. Or maybe they do. Who knows?

Hat tip Roland to you and your fellow countrymen.

Beautiful beach snaps Scott!

I took the Spanish out for an easy cruise today. Passed by an art car in the neighborhood. I'm sure this crazy vehicle is one of the Houston Art Car entrants.

The Houston Art Car Parade is a great local tradition and this car is pretty tame in comparison to some.

Thanks for support dear friends. Very hard times now. Very hard mentally. Personally for me my Vespas are a great way to keep myself up and not get depressed. Every ride is mental healing at small.

70+ mile spin down to Monroe, then over east of Athens, and back to Winder. Lovely day.

Out doing a little test ride on the Sprint today and saw that yet another sketchy corner market is gone, most likely about to turn into condos or townhouses, along with M&M Motors, which is right next door.
