Got out for a birthday ride today. What a glorious day in New England. I was low on pre-mix so I kept it close to home and didn't stop for taking any pix. But here we were a few days ago in the next town over: an artsy joint called Montague, Mass. Glad the riding season is beginning again.

It's Easter here and family had a big feast, lamb on a spit over charcoal w/ all the fixings was great! Afterwards most ppl headed for a nice nap.
But this is my last day here on the island and weather yesterday was cold, windy and a little rain but today was warm & sunny. My cue to take my last ride here that I had planned for yesterday, while others are snoozing. All in all, it was a great way to cap my week's vacation! ![]() So I headed up the mountain behind our house. This is the view of our village and my favorite beach from about halfway up.
![]() Close to the top, miniature village below.
![]() At the top the road levels out for quite a ways.
![]() About half way over the top I took a short break here just sitting in the warm sun.
![]() Heading downhill to the other side.
![]() But I took a rocky dirt road off to the side I hadn't explored before. You can see the next village Patrikata and the sea in the background.
![]() Further along there were cows, lots of cows. Many spring/summer pastures up here.
![]() I spotted another creature in the road on the way back. Poor dead snake.
![]() My favorite hairpin, a little more than halfway up.
![]() Next hairpin on the way down, there are about 10 from the village to the top.

Made it to the Oregon 100 in the Eugene area this last Saturday.
It dumped the entire day, and it was a blast! Instead of the trials style, it was a group ride - a big scooter convoy. Nobody went down, which was awesome. Everybody got wet, which was awesome too! ![]() I got to meet a couple of MVers too! ![]() Ruby copiloting over to Eugene

I finally got out for an actual ride today. 25 miles of back roads through the Vermont countryside.
The 200 engine ran as usual in spite of the recent troubles with the autolube. I decided to live dangerously and not bother checking the piston. What really stood out was how much better it rides with new shocks and shock buffers. That squirmy feeling like the bike was going to slide out from under me is completely gone. Somewhere along the route I hit 54 on the GPS. Not that it's a high speed, but that it felt completely stable and effortless on winding roads with a speed limit of 40. I don't even know when it happened. Phone was in my pocket and not looking at the speedo. I was just riding along in an easy going way. In the past, 50+ was a focused track bike time trial because the bike handled so poorly. Yay! ![]()

That dark yellow really pops on your Rally, not the usual color we see on them. Is it original? Good job regardless if it's not.
I was feeling sorry for my scruffy old AllState w/ all my attention here lately on my Supers, so I rolled it down to the garage from shed out back, added a liter of fresh gas after running it dry when put away, and it fired up after 3 or 4 kicks π. A nice ride in the sunshine seemed in order so off we roared and it pulled so strong when I hit second gear headed uphill ![]() Curses, I made it maybe a hundred yards when suddenly the ass end got all squirrelly
![]() Good thing I had a spare
![]() but back to the garage for a wrench, I was reminded that a sparkplug wrench is too small. But I definitely made it out of the house and ready now to continue ...
