Oh, man...that would be awesome. But no.

I went to a local taco truck, then stopped off on the way home and took this picture by the fancy taco building. It's pretty tasty, but requires you to spend twice as much money and still be hungry when you leave, so I stick with what works.

Lovely pic. If they tolerate scooters on the sidewalk, maybe you can sneak the smallie into Houston's underground walking system?

The temps have been pretty crap here and we've been getting monsoons in the evening. Things cooled off enough last night that I took a moonlit ride in the foothills. Ay que fantastico!

Sorry to hear about your heat fellas, it's down right cold here this week. Low 70's. For highs. Feels like October.
Strangest summer we've had. June and July was over 90° just about everyday which never happens. We'll get some 3-4 day long heat waves but it always broke for a day or two after some storms. Never got that till a hurricane came by in the beginning of August which has been not hot at all. Mostly low 80's. Our shits all backwards.

I dunno how people survive down there. It's unbearable. I'd die within the first year of living in the south or southwest from heat stroke.

Damn I love me that smallie. Still kick myself a little I didn't jump on it before you did.

It's been at or near triple digits here, but we don't get nearly the humidity you do.

It cooled down to the upper 70's today and is going to stay under 80 for a few days. Definitely an improvement over what we've been getting.

It's a gem. Total OG. I don't think the cases have ever been opened which is crazy to think about.

And it was an interesting get... I called the owner, and left a message just saying, "the asking price was more than fair., and that I would pay the ask without haggling." Also, I couldn't pick it up for a few weeks but could pay in advance and/or make a 50% deposit. Whatever made the owner comfortable. I didn't actually expect to hear back. But about a week later the guy called and was like. "Bike is yours if you're still interested. You cant believe the tire kickers and people trying to haggle me down further."

Just goes to show, if you see a real deal...Take it and make it as easy on the seller as you can.

You buy the same way I do. No haggling or last-minute take-aways. I treat sellers the way I like to be treated as a seller. The rest of 'em can just take a hike. And don't even get me started on the ATO (Account TakeOver) scammers that flood your DM's the minute you list something.

Weather has been tough here too. Hot for the northeast and awful humidity. Going for runs early mornings at 70*, it's been impossible to go more than a mile because of the humidity alone. It's definitely cut down on riding opportunities.

How do you like that legshield mirror? I was looking at those, I do want a mirror on the VBB but most of the legshield mirrors don't fold, and I know my family members will crease my leggie the moment I put it on.

Does it work worth a shit or is it just for not getting a ticket purposes?

Hey John - I LOVE The stadium mirror!

It took a bit of fiddling to get it adjusted to be just right for me and my seating position, but once that was done it works great.

I use it as much as I do I handlebar mirror, so it's not just bling Razz emoticon

And I always pull into the garage and fold it up. Makes it much easier to navigate around in a smaller space.

This is what I did. It took a fair amount of positioning, then adjustment of the mirror itself, but here are pics below to describe it better than I ever could with words...

Let me throw this one out. It's convex, big and stable.
Big improvement over the others I've tried:

But it doesn't fold.... I wonder if the two could be combined?.....

EDIT: I have the stalk like that in the p200 (different mirror I know) but the adjustability is superb.....

This weekend was the Run From The Sun rally put on by the Top Dead Center Scooter Club out of Eugene, and of which I'm a member.

This years RFTS was held in....FLORENCE!!!

I led the ride today to Yachats and back, with a couple of side roads thrown in. Weather was perfect, fish tacos perfect, BBQ at the end of the day perfect. And scooter talk - lots and lots of scooter talk - perfect!

What an awesome day. Smiles all around...
A little over 30 scooters on the ride

Dropped in for the group ride at the local vintage club rally. Thirty-five to forty scoots, more Lambrettas than Vespas.

Video credit to David Murphy. Guessing you need to be on Faceplant to open that link.

First time outta the garage in 2024 (dam those over-scheduled teenage kids!). Cruised the neighborhood, checking fallout from Monday's devil storm. We've had several of these high wind thunder monsters this summer. Lots of 100+ year old trees completely uprooted and crashing on houses/cars/garages. This tree is only a block from home. Was a very fun ride. Had forgotten how much I love it

Month ago I had very nice but also hard 270 km trip with two guys on soft-enduro bikes. Lots of dirt roads and bad country roads. Since I have some off-road riding experience I hold without problem.
But on the way back engine rubber mounts said enough. Also shiny fresh paint on my P got lot of scratches.
We eat lot of dirt and dust, was very tired but this was a real adventure. Absolutely love it.
