Shitboxin at the Hare Krishna temple. They have a wonderful restaurant inside called Govinda's. We grab take out there often. Does not suck!

I love everything about this picture, including the idea of Indian food.

We have a Govinda's here in Philly too. I haven't been in over a decade. Last few times I was there it didn't agree with me at all. They had gotten a new chefโ€ฆ. Next time I'm out I'll pop by our Krishna temple and take a pic, it's very close to my house.

Back in the day I had a Krishna buddy I used to work with and he'd bring in leftovers to the lunchroom.

Weird thing was nobody would touch them, but I would eat all afternoon like a king!

Finally did the first ride.

Gremlins!

Clogged tank cap vent (I think). Loose spark plug connector. Ride a mile. Stall. Vent tank. Wedge plug cap under air bellows. Ride another mile. Repeat. Lacked tools for field fixes. But those are easy gremlins.

Short 4th is nice. I'm not really sweating break in. Tank of 1%. Varied speeds. No max revs until after a couple tank fulls.

First ride gremlins are a given. Minor and simple to fix. I only got slightly annoyed. Calling it a win.

Did someone say Indian food? That's my fave.

I haven't been riding often so I haven't been posting much. But I just enjoyed an end-of-holiday weekend run this evening. There are many historic public and family cemeteries here in the Pioneer Valley, so I pulled over at one around the block from me in Greenfield.

It seems Graves is as good a name as any to place on a headstone (rip).

Bike still running strong and 2.5% mix seems just right. Hope you all ride safe.

Month ago I had very nice but also hard 270 km trip with two guys on soft-enduro bikes. Lots of dirt roads and bad country roads. Since I have some off-road riding experience I hold without problem.
But on the way back engine rubber mounts said enough. Also shiny fresh paint on my P got lot of scratches.
We eat lot of dirt and dust, was very tired but this was a real adventure. Absolutely love it.

Haha these photos are awesome! Love taking these things off road sometimes.

That was awesome. Looks like y'all had a blast.

The Lo-Fi production really matches with the vintage bikes, too.

Gorgeous out today. 70ยฐ while I was out and about checking my carb tune. Went from BE3 to BE1 and turned the mix screw out another 1/4 turn and it's almost done. Gonna have to pop in a richer idle since I'm at 3 3/4 turns out I think. Going one or 2 richer should get me around the 2.5 turns out area I think. Anyways here's Wonderwallโ€ฆ.

That memorial is close to 70' tallโ€ฆ it's not just the photo angle making it look tiny, it kinda is next to this. There's a matching one on the other side of the street too. And a whispering bench behind it. It's a curved marble bench that's like 100' long and if two people sit on the far ends and whisper to each other it sounds like you're talking in a normal voice. It's kinda wild honestly.

Dude...it was amazeballs to go there. My daughter and I loved it, but my wife refused to set foot in there after one visit. I'm not sure whether the customers or the staff were doing more meth, either.

The intersection it sits at was #2 on the list of locations with the most police calls in the entire city. #1 was the "get drunk & yell" tourist district on Broadway, which kind've doesn't count if you ask me.

You can't really tell in the picture, but there's a bum either passed out/asleep or dead up against the building behind me.

They're building a Dunkin' Donuts on the parcel next door and I'm sure it's going to wind up with some interesting issues of its own.

Yeah, it really lived up to the adage that, "IHOP is just Waffle House for people who don't like to fight."

They built a new one a couple miles up the road, but it doesn't have that same "whatever life decisions brought me here, I need to make them differently next time" vibe as this one did. It's pretty normal as Waffle Houses go.

Gotta love a good dive!

I have on by work. Think I'll hit them up for lunch tomorrow. Went to one in Fort Lauderdale when I attended a vendor conference earlier this year. Was still good, not sure why I quit going.

Our "choicest" intersection is Grant & Alvernon. Full of prime real estate, but equally full of fentanyl zombies. The Walgreen's closed due to theft. The Burger King was closed and bulldozed. The Church's Chicken burnt down (because drug lab) and was bulldozed. The Circle K closed up and was bulldozed. Someone was shot in the WalMart Neighborhood Market a few years back and the body just laid there until morning. Mom used to get mad that I would take her across town to a different Neighborhood Market... Facepalm emoticon

Man... I have a waffle house story... I was lucky to only bear witness to the calamity, but things could have certainly gone far more pear shaped for me had I been closer to the cacophony nucleus.

Cliffnotes - Florida Panhandle, town of Midway.

Big guy on bath salts or ketamine or who knows what extremely upset that his bacon wasn't crispy. (Seriously.)
Mouthing and yelling at one of the female staff members.
Johnny Upstanding at the stool adjacent verbally intervened to protect the honor and dignity of the wafflehouse lady.
More yelling ensues, and then.... Shoving/scrambled eggs flying/punches thrown/teenagers cheering/waffle frisbees/more violence/police arrive almost instantly/more yelling/po-po assaulted by ketamine man.

(I still ate my food before giving a statement as a witness.)

It used to be that IHOP, Denny's, and Waffle House were pretty similar, more geographically than culturally separate. Now, it seems like Denny's & Waffle house are a lot more similar, while IHOP floats above them. Maybe that's their "International" sophistication coming through. Razz emoticon
