In my hometown I changed P to LML 200 and done near 80km to wild camping for two nights. LML sits almost two years without moving, but started easily by few kicks.

Awesome photos, I cant wait to go on my camping trip! Truly nothing better, besides maybe racing.

Today GeekLion came up for a visit and a ride. We rode up the coast (no surprise) to Waldport, then back to have some burritos in the garage.

A bitchen day with perfect weather, riding conditions, and hanging out talking scooter stuff with a very cool friend. It was awesome!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, he bought back the tight rat, a 79 P200. I haven't done anything either it, and now that Feebs is back in the garage....

A big thanks to Chris for the loan/storage of Feebs in my garage Razz emoticon

I sprung for a high quality headlight (JW Speaker) when I built the SprintV in 2018. I've ridden at night with it out in the dark and it's as good as a car headlight.

This is running off the battery, and it's even brighter with the motor running.

It wasn't cheap ($200, IIRC), but well worth it if you ride at night.

Hey Friday are you running the LED on AC or DC? How long have you been using it and are you happy with the performance? Any dimming issues at idle engine speed? Very interested if they work with AC.

The link didn't take me to the bulb but when I put 7125180101 which I took off the box label you posted it brought me to the bulb.

It slightly flickers at idle. It's not very noticeable. Haven't ridden at night with it yet. I just got it last week and installed before I rode the other day. I'm running it with the AC Vape ignition. So far so good and no complaints with 2 rides in. It's very bright. Easily double the output of the halogen bulb I had in there.

What's your idle set to?

I've found that with the DC Vape, if the idle is set below about 1,300 RPM's, LED headlights will flicker if I don't have a battery.

Around 1300 as well, 1300-1400 is where it typically lands.

I recently fitted an Osram 12V 35/35 and am quite content with the beam being WAY brighter than the original glow point but then where I ride there is nó street lighting and very little traffic so 35/35 looks like more than it is.

I rolled Rusty (my wife's Lambretta) out of the garage for its first ride since last year. Some fresh gas and more air in the tires and she blazed around the streets quite nicely at about 25mph.this is a 1971 J50 Special, final year for Lambretta production in Italy.

Thanks. We like it! Let me attach some more pics (which are 4 or 5 years old...). My wife has been learning to ride. I've done a little work to it, and it still needs a proper seat cover. I'd like to install a cylinder kit because it's really so sluggish. There are 80cc and 105cc options... for under $500.

I could be wrong, but I recall I read years ago that these J50s weren't officially imported into the U.S. by dealers much, if at all, due to lack of interest in the junior 'Bretta line. So, if that's true, someone could have brought it home from Europe. I picked it up in Windsor, CT a few years ago.

Along those lines, I had the Lammy out on the highway yesterday, but forgot the GPS, so no speedo. When I got home, I checked my max observed RPM's (8,500) against my gearing sheet and discovered I'd been going 83 MPH.

On tubes.

Luckily, a little after that I headed out to my buddy JJ's to help him unload a UHaul full of scooter parts and tools and pick up a set of SIP tubeless rims with nice, new Heidenau rubber on them.

Of course, in typical Lambretta "3 steps forward, 2 steps back" mode, I needed to get longer hub studs to mount them properly, but I expect they'll still be a nice upgrade over what I've been running--and which are already getting worn down on the rear wheel.

What I didn't get done was any of my planned motor swapping by the time I did everything else I needed to do over the weekend. Oh, well. They'll be there waiting once I'm ready.

I know of a J-range or should I say J-ranges that would be a cheap buy. Both in pieces, both incomplete... but would probably get you 90% of the way to a 1 running scoot. Caveat - the last 10% would be uphill.

Holler if you have any interest.

We're all "ooh...fall colors...so jelly..." now, but I know that in a couple weeks you won't be able to ride from leaves stuck to the pavement like landmines and in a month, it'll be snowy and icy.

Unless you're me, in which case you just gear up and go for it.

Love it! Make sure you keep a good high-rez copy of that one.

We're all "ooh...fall colors...so jelly..." now, but I know that in a couple weeks you won't be able to ride from leaves stuck to the pavement like landmines and in a month, it'll be snowy and icy.

Unless you're me, in which case you just gear up and go for it.
October is usually a solid month for riding. By November, it's stick season, which lasts until mid to late May 😔.

That's the price you pay for those high-quality summers.

Meanwhile, I finally made time while it was too rainy to ride and pulled together a video from our club weekend a few weeks ago. We had about half our members turn up and a good time was had by all.

Yes! Always great videos. And I always admire a man who appreciates the finer things in life…like a well seasoned burn barrel.

Wónderful video; thanks for that.

I live in the mountainous heartland of Málaga, Andalucía; southern España, just north of the climate divide. Unlike at the coast four real seasons with a ´proper´ winter. Between brackets because although we do have freezing nights most of winter, snow even, we also still have those 300 sunny days/year and very little rain. The latter makes leafy trees scarce thus ditto leafy traps. Scooter season all year round. Just wait for the sun to chase off the cold of the early morning. And if it rains, go tomorrow

Actually, the biggest road hazard I have run across in Vermont are sections of road that get "repaved" with a layer of mud and shit from manure tankers and farm trucks. Crusty on top, slimy underneath.
