Mural at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Wilcox.
"You are the star" was painted in 1983 by a non-muralist, whose buddy's mom owned the art deco building and the huge lingerie store around the corner. A lot of curious murals were painted around LA before the 1984 olympics. They're all gone. Not sure how this has survived... sorta. My '58 VBA has finally left the house again first time in more than a few years. I finally got the original headset working after 2nd Ave Scooters got it unstuck for me. And now has a '60 4 speed motor that worked pretty good on my first extended test ride today.

Okay, that front rack is just sick.
Love it! Can you briefly describe the setup? Is it self/battery powered? |

Took the Fast White to an event on the weekend. Braking distance on the 200m drag was kinda short when pulling over the finish line throttle wide open. On the last run ended up locking the rear brake for a good 20m before coming to a halt just a meter before the paved strip turns to sand and grass. After this the Michelin S1 rear tire had a nice spot with the first fibers slightly showing so it was really done for. Decided to give it a hot way out at the end of the day while a friend of mine snapped a nice photo of the moment. It's quite hard to put the rubber to the ground with the soft and diving front end

Naw naw… that's not cool.
We are built for 100 degree temps down here. Central air everywhere. That kinda heat in Boston, NYC, or Philly is dangerous bc the infrastructure ain't there. I lived in NYC one summer with not even a window unit and 90 degrees was hell on earth. (Thank god for bookstores.) I feel for ya. Hang in there amigo. Be safe! |

Hot in the big city, any big city sucks. I grew up without AC in south Florida, semi-ac (loud window units) in some of the apartments I rented and worked construction all my life. But the ocean was always close by and I went after work everyday. Even now in 90 degrees doesn't feel all that bad as long as I can stay away from Charlotte and all the heat storing concrete.

I had an old SIP Road 2.0 on my VBB and it did just fine.
I put a SIP RoadXL on, and I haven't had clearance issues, but I did have to ditch the center stand for a side stand. People also like the Polini box on 8" s, but I haven't tried one yet. |

Mod Eric The Skin wrote: What's that pipe? How's the ground clearance on "8's? My Sim has been repacked, but I think the baffles are gone now. Looking for something durable. Clearance is OK. It interferes with the center stand spring, but just a little. I use the side stand most of the time anyway. It seems to work well. I'd love to try a Polini, but can't really justify cause this one is working just fine. |

Here are the 2 Vespas that I had about 40 years ago: The first is a German market 1983 PK 50. The second is a 1986 Spanish built MotoVespa PX 200E.
Neither of these had batteries or e-starters. I was stationed in Europe with the US military, back then. pdf
