yeah we had a good turnout and all went well, nobody lost and no incidents, all in all a winning day. the twisty roads were awesome and the weather turned nice after my fingers defrosted on a coffee at the starting point. before that - it was cold on the way up! i had winter gloves but it took ~30min to feel them again inside.

It's been raining and about to get cold here for a while, so I snuck out for a bit and took in the new local sights this afternoon.

I went to go pick up the van from the shop and I took B62.

I forgot how much power this thing has (Pinasco 2-port w/24.24 carb. I've been riding the stock VBB150 around and the difference is substantial!

what's the seat on B62? i like it.

The only scoot I could find on the streets of Dublin between Christmas and New Year's Eve was this prettied up ooold Lambretta LD. Fortunately it was locked up safely.

I really like that kit. It's got some kick but not too much. It's pretty much perfect in that way. We have some short steep intersections near me that I have to take, stock 125 and less so the 150 struggle to get up when the light turns green. The Pinasco 177 does it no problem. It's a blast to ride.

Taking the scoot makes running any errand better. It also discourages stockpiling of things you shouldn't really stockpile. Like booze.

Sadly, the research doesn't back that up, but it's still a good rationalization. It's a world class stoplight racer. The front wheel probably spends enough time off the ground that the tire is never going to wear out.

Sun was forecast for the coast yesterday, so we shoved off in cold fog and rode west until emerging into brilliant sunlight. Winters here are typically not awful, just cold and wet, so a clear 40 degree (F) day suggests a ride.

January 2nd was first ride in 2025. A little more than 100 km have done.

On my 3rd tank of gas on my first full engine rebuild. Not a single issue. Could probably jet a little leaner, but there's no bogging and the temps are low on the highway and no real hesitation around the city. So I'll let it rock for a bit. Riding everyday in these temps sucks….

Next week that 29° is gonna feel downright tropical too!

I'm gonna be riding a hundred miles home at 29F or so on Sunday, because I'm dumb like that.

This Sunday is the annual frozen grapes ride here in wine country. And by frozen they mean riding in 50 degrees. You all are hardcore!

Today will be great riding weather. Sunday...less so...

It's 50 MPH speed limit and I have All The Gearz, so it's not as bad as it could be. And I should have a "truck back" option if it comes to that.

Whether or not I use it will probably have more to do with my hangover level than the temperature.

Just finished the ride across town and even with the liners out and summer gloves, I'm hot in my German Touring Nerd gear.
