AmeriBodge looks to be in top shape, tastefully bodged & nothing irreversible.
Meanwhile, I just dug my PKs out of 9 months storage. The PK125XL started right up after 3 kicks. The GrecoBodge Plurimatic converted to PK50XL2 power was more of a challenge getting the clutch, shifter & carb dialed in but now she's a fairly reliable runner.
Back out on the street again
First test rides around the neighborhood. Looks like I found some kinda crude commercial ATV???
Nope, some kinda compact asphalt paving machine.
An old long abandoned house that will likely be demolished for a new apartment building. These places are often 'owned' by the children of the residents who have passed away, and they have left Greece for greener pastures
Sometimes the more ornate places can be restored to former glory, but unlikely here

I always love when you're in Greece, Terry. Your pictures are always so interesting.
I went nowhere so interesting, just a trip to the doctor, but I did pause along they way to grab this shot. Best I could do for fresh content on a familiar route.

Looking good for this coming week finally here in Philly. Been a looooong cold winter. Next week is looking real nice. Can't wait to break Bear and Bluey out from their hibernation.
We had two nice days last week but I had crap to do so couldn't get out. |

First ride of the year. A chilly 61° out but worth every second of it.
This building has been quite a few things. A hotel in the 1800's, a police station in the early 1900's and then a park rangers office in the 70's and 80's to now being just a storage space, too many floods from the creek nearby.

Went to the post office, and took a little jaunt up North Fork to Bender Landing. And it's 48 degrees
I always say when asked, what's my favorite scooter, that it's the one I'm riding. That's essentially true, but my smile is bigger when riding the Blue Bomber. Such a fun scooter!

It's Friday and weekly laiki or neighborhood street market day. The stall in front of my shop was empty today so I parked my herd out front in the sun along w/ the PX200 I'm finishing up & wanting to ship (chasing a bug in both front turn lites, rears lite up fine).
There's interesting foot traffic all day long and occasional questions and interesting stories about current Vespas and in the past
This goes on for several blocks, fresh veg & fruit at this end going down to flower & garden, decent cheap clothes and household goods & random hardware. I got all my metric T handle wrenches here, 1€ ea.
I did ride both PKs on various errands including arranging a surprise bargain deal, PK related, I'll reveal later ... heh heh

V oodoo: Terry, about the PX, exchange the red and white wires on the flasher relay and check if the front are now working and the rear not. If yes, one output of the relay is dead, replace. If it's the same, check behind the turn signal switch there's a chance one of the wires has broken and needs re-soldering...
*Speedo needs to be connected to complete the circuit and all bulbs need to be 12V-21W... |

Chris, I can't thank you enough, it was the flash relay as you suggested. I finally unburied it behind the battery & swapped it for an extra I had on hand. Now perfect flash all four corners.
But the starter is cutting out again Sorry for tangent, but this is one Vespa I definitely want to LEAVE THE HOUSE
This little guy? Could this be the source of all my grief?

As for the starter relay, if you're going to replace it, get the new type which is better and super cheap (OEM code: 58115R)...
*Yes, that little red guy is the interlock safety relay... https://www.francesco.gr/search.asp?searchfor=58115R&searchgo=Submit

chandlerman wrote: It's probably the relay, which is annoying because they're so cheap that I've only ever been able to buy them in bulk (like a dozen at a time). SaFiS wrote: Connect the horn and press the horn button before trying the starter. If it works, the interlock safety relay is going bad. I just remove them, you just need to bridge the pink and black wires coming out the loom. This bypasses the interlock and connects the starter button straight to the starter relay. Tape up the other two (grey and pink coming from the clutch switch) and you're done... |
