It finally stopped raining here. Had been raining for at least a week.

So I left the house.

With my Vespa. Really, I did.

Finally.
Me, on my Vespa. Shortly after leaving the house.

There are postcard views around every corner here in Vermont and miles and miles of twisty empty backroads. The only real downside is a short riding season. I'll take it though. Quality over quantity and enjoying every ride.

Those wonderfully bright purple jacaranda trees are in abundant bloom here too.

The trike thing with one front wheel is notoriously instable through corners unless silly long ´chopper´ long wheel base.
Have a look at Reliant or Bond Bug cornering videos.
This tricky aspect also caused the concept for ATVs to be prohibited in favour of quads in several countries.

Sidecars are btw prone to the same thing in left corners with the chair mounted right and vv. Not as pronounced but go quick or tight enough and hoppa! I had an anti dive skid bar fitted under the front of my last MZ sidecar.

It's all in My 1958 Allstate Super Cruisaire project. however to save you having to read through all of that…

Stripped off the paint that was put on with a paint brush by using orange peel paint stripper and covering it with plastic wrap (SaranWrap) letting it sit for 24 hrs then removed. I then use Sharkhide a bare metal protectant. It's held really well for 2yrs now. May have to do another wipe of it next year. I think if I originally did more than one coat it would have lasted much longer. Next time I put it on I'm gonna do 3-5 wipes and see how that does.

Thanks for the compliment!

Looks like a nice survivor bike w/ lots of original paint and the coveted turn signals & USA tractor rear light. BTW Is that a locking curry hook? Just please replace the booties.

The hole in the wall place is right across from our other public 'square' although this one is actually a long skinny triangle blending 2 one way streets into 1 two way street so a lot more traffic. Still a nice place to sit in the sun & feed pigeons

It's all original other than the motor, which I have a moderate tune on (60mm cut crank, BGM177, RoadXL, Vape, 24/24). The guy I bought it from had had it since the early 90's and never did anything but the most basic maintenance.

I kept the autolube, so it's a good multi-role bike which will keep up with traffic but is also a first kick start, even after sitting for a while. It could stand to come down a jet on the main, but I think I'll leave it that way just for an added safety buffer.

Yes, it's a locking curry hook. It's the SIP version and I put them on all my bikes with hooks so I can lock my helmet if I don't want to take it with me when I park somewhere.

I know this is a "photo" thread but I figure most of you guys will appreciate. Here is my video recap of the MopedGP East round 1 race. I only put the starts to my races because I end up passing everyone by the end of the first lap and then there's nothing to look at. I swept the entire weekend getting 1st in every race, in the geared scooter class and the unlimited class.

I'm also putting together a 6hour endurance race at the same track if anyone is interested in coming to race, join a team, or help out with the event! It's in Syracuse, NY Aug 1-2. I'll have a flyer in a few days.

Yeah the kart tracks get less and less or they have a bad experience with some
Scooters and ban them all together. The bigger tracks are usually not as keen for scooters to ride either. We are pretty lucky to have this track. The owners are extremely cool.

Nope, GL is absolutely crushing it. Of course, that's often the foreshadow of a clock reset, but as of right now, all is well.

Ok this may be sacrilege but had to post. Saw this at anthropology and found it funny but on closer inspection am impressed by the creativity of the construction. I think it's canvas and wicker haha they paid attention to some parts.it was much sturdier than I thought it would be.
