I haven't been able to find the energy to give it a proper write-up, but last weekend, my club, the Snakes, threw our first Nashville rally in some time, "Year of the Snakes."
As with any great rally, there's too much to say for me to even begin to capture it all. We had about fifty folks in total, which was not bad for an inaugural event. I met one new MV'er, gummy8879, who came over from Memphis with his nice, fast Stella and held his own among a bunch of people who have mostly known and ridden together for years. The group ride was on Friday afternoon because Reasons, but we still started the ride with about 15 or 16 bikes, though we were down to 12 by the time we hit the Parthenon. I made sure we saw both the good and bad parts of Nashville, as well as the tourist-y parts overrun with bachelorettes in brand new white cowboy boots and shorts. We also got outside of town for the last half of the ride and covered some faster and twistier miles, before taking a break to regroup, then head out for an evening of fun. Saturday, we spent the day hanging out at the Dive Motel pool, admiring the raffle Allstate in its place of pride and catching some rays. Then Saturday night was Gramp's a "Your Grampa's Garage" themed bar that recently opened in my neighorhood. I should have gotten some pictures of the inside, because it absolutely looks like a garage/workshop. The bar top is even tools and "tool bench crap," encased in acrylic. At one point, I was standing outside the doorway talking and two twenty-something tourists walked up and thought I was working the door. I'm not sure if I should be flattered or insulted by that. All-in-all, a great time and for those of you within the Midwest or Rally scene, I invite you to come out next time, if only because there's no such thing as selling too many raffle tickets.
Assembling for the group ride
Everyone on Best Behavior at The Parthenon. Other than the illegal sidewalk parking, of course.
Scooterists doing what they do best: making a super-sketchy part of town even sketchier
"The parking lot is closed."
"To *you*, maybe."
Raffle Allstate, anyone?
How you know it's a *real* rally...
Neither the Locals nor the Tourists knew what hit 'em

So today's ride worked out better for me than for some. JJ managed to hole the piston of his stock P200, which was pretty surprising, given that it was not a fresh rebuild and had been abused through two rallies plus whatever other miles he put on it this year.
We made the most of it, though. I made a beer run while his and our other buddy's girlfriends grabbed an Uber to go get his truck, then we hung out at a farm stand across the street where they graciously offered us chairs and a shady spot to sit while we waited on the Sad Wagon. So we had a couple beers and shot the shit while we watched the traffic go by. Not quite the afternoon we'd planned, but we had a good time and I still rode 75 miles or so, much of it at a nice cruising 55-65 MPH.

Sunday morning coffee meetup in Saratoga, CA with a couple of my Vespa Club San Jose buddies. They (GL and GTS) headed up into the hills for a ride; unfortunately I (ET3) had other stuff going on and had to ride home.

Took old blue out to burn up the old gasoline. It's been there awhile because I have neglected this poor scooter. Might be the last warm day of the season.
Mission accomplished as I burned up all the gas…before I got home. Had to call the Missus to rescue me with a refill.
Should have brought this gas can instead of just posing with it.
