I have a 1982 p200e euro spec. Stock, with drilled out air filter, 120 main jet, sip road 2.0 exhaust. I often ride almost flat out 30 miles to work at avout 56mph in my rural area, i'm not a small fellow at 6ft, 250lbs. At this speed I evaluate fuel mileage at about 40mpg, does that sound right? I see people claim 60 mpg with those but suspect this is city cruising? But even in cities i don't think i do more than 45mpg? Should i be concern?….not mentionning my weight here!

Thanks!
Rob

Probably depends on how/where you are riding?

My p200 seemed to get around 60. But riding in town, you are idling a lot, etc.

40 sounds right if youre really pushing it. On my big tours, i'd only get around 80 mpT. Maybe a little more (5'11, 200 lbs).

I used to log mine meticulously and averaged in the low-mid 50s in mixed city, but I got MORE fuel economy on long faster cruises, not less. City is terrible for fuel economy.

Think the most I ever got was like 70mpg or so Rollin ~50mph straight for ages in the country.

40 is low IMO, but you're a big guy riding WOT constantly... do that in your car and you'll have to switch from mpg to gpm

I consistently get 40 MPG on a mix of city and country road riding. Stock 1980 p200 with SIP road exhaust.

Here's some of my madness from years of daily riding before I eventually just said "screw it" and stopped logging.
