If you do a total swap with motor, drive train, ECU etc etc...

Probably*

Replying from a friend.

*That's a MALE probably, not a female one.
You will need the under seat pet carrier too.

The motor should bolt right in. But you're probably wondering if it will run. Will the ECU plug into the harness? Are the wires going from the harness to the ecu doing the same job on both bikes? Does the plug from the stator match the one on the harness of the old Vespa? If the two plugs match up, it might work. Or you could get it in, hook everything up and find out it doesn't work. Make sure you get the key chip that goes to the HPE ECU.
By the time you get one in and set up, your three weeks of good riding weather will be over.

Sadly, I have a wrecked HPE Vespa 300 and an older non-HPE Vespa 300 that needs some top-end engine work.... Soooo why not just strip the older Vespa down to the frame, give it a nice custom paint job, and slide in the HPE engine and electronics?

I can't think of a reason that wouldn't work. The HPE is ABS. Is the 300 ABS or is there room to put the ABS parts?

It's a 2014, ABS was an option that year, but this particular one didn't have it.
