Not a clue. If I ever found myself in a position where my underseat storage and my top case weren't enough I would just take my BMW with 115 liters of hard cases instead.

I see yours has a phone mount and it seems to place the phone towards the center of the wind screen which is where I want mine to be. Can you post a picture and model of phone holder? The GTV exposes the handlebars like few other Vespas. I'm wondering if a handlebar mount versus the mirror stem mount would work?

I would be really sad when my GTV arrives next week if it were winter here! In fact, mine is in Illinois now, so I am rescuing it from winter and salt!

We do not have winter but we do have hurricanes. We got walloped a month ago. I just got the propane bill for powering the generator while the power was out then. It's 73f here now at 5:18 am

Ok, I don't have mine yet but I'm confused. The front rack is above the headlight. So can't you stack 3 feet or a meter of stuff on that rack and the headlight shines below it! The only limit would be that it could be high enough to block the drivers view?

I feel can't do it until it gets delivered. It has to travel a few thousand miles and arrive in good shape. Then it is mine and goes in the profile. I sold my 50 this week and updated my profile immediately! Cheers

Here is my 2013 GTV 300 Cannonball bike from last year. She did not make it all the way cross country. Ended up breaking down in Michigan, water pump, then head gasket. Would have caught the water pump earlier had it not been for the Hurricane Elsa we had to ride through. There was no way of telling she had pissed out all her fluid until it was too late. Damn idiot lights on these bikes.

Yesterday, my Vespa GTV was supposed to ship. The dealer called and said the sales rep was out unexpectedly. They asked me about my purchase and how I paid. Also said no shipping was arranged and asked for a copy of the bank transfer. The guy said he'd call me back once he gathered more info.

Texted the sales rep and got a non answer.

I then called the bank and reported possible fraud. Seemed like I might have a serious problem which could result in loss of Vespa and money.

Today the Vespa dealer owner called me. He had just met with the police and would file criminal charges against sales rep for skimming money from sales. He had lost much money.

But he had insurance and I would get my precious GTV. Horray!

The police called and asked simple questions. Yikes!

Now I wait while shipping is arranged. Oh my!

Oh Man that is a bummer to hear about your issue with the Sales rep. So many people are skimming these days.

What happened to the GTV- Well I put a new water pump, and she smoked up a storm. So I replaced the Top end, and next year we are ready to try this all over again.

Talk about bummer? Replaced the top end? Yikes! Is the engine work done and successful or you don't know yet? I gather you did the work? Nice job!

I still get it! I'm using Uship to find a shipper. Should finalize shipping today. Pickup will be early next week I hope.

The second picture shows your phone mount, mounted to the handlebar versus the mirror stem. That's exactly what I was hoping to see because it places the phone more in the center. Does it work well? Can you please tell me which mount that is? Thanks so much

it looks like it but it's not connected to the handle bar. it is connected to the mirror.

I did the work myself, believe it or not, its easier than you would think. Of course I made a few mistakes along the way, but for the most part it went back together pretty well. I purchased a lift, and I don't think I could have done it as well without it. The lift helps with everything. Moving it around and just being at a comfortable height. The only other item you can't really do this without, is a scissor lift. I have see people do it without one, but there is some muscle involved. Rebuilt it with 1900 miles on it. It currently has 3500 miles so its getting some riding in.


I used Motoshippers.com for shipping my bike to Bar Harbor Maine, and then from Traverse City Michigan. I would use them again. I really like them

GTV update. In my 11/4 post I reported the fraud at the Vespa Dealer outside Chicago. The owner promised his insurance would make right and I'd get my GTV. 10 days later, they are waiting on insurance to cover and my bike is hostage. Last week they said hopefully this week.

This is my least fun Vespa experience. I'm still optimistic. We shall see!

Did you pay with a credit card? If so Visa or Mastercard should be notified, and they can get you your money back. This would really bother me, and I would think about my experience every time I rode the bike. Just my 2 cents.

I've taken all the right steps with my bank. I believe it will all work out but it's frustrating waiting so long.

But it will not mar the joy of this sweet Vespa. I worked hard to find it and it's part of the adventure in finding it!


2016 Vespa GTV "Worth the wait"

Uship has a checkered reputation. Some of the drivers have been very good and others not so much. So check individual drivers references. Motoshippers is used by cannonball riders.

Yes I used https://www.motoshippers.com/ during my Cannonball last year. Highly recommended. I actually used them 2xs during the Cannonball. My GTV broke down and had to be shipped home.

There is nothing stopping a GTS owner from strapping stuff UNDER the front rack as well.
I hang a slim zippered bag with my rain gear there when touring.
Light and easily accessible without unpacking anything

That's really is a personal opinion. I think it is a big deal aesthetically speaking and not easily fixable. Removing the glove box would not give you access to the dent because the radiator and voltage regulator would be in the way.

I did not place my beloved 2016 GTV in my profile, believing I shouldn't until I had it in my possession.

I now believe it is unlikely that I will ever see that machine. The dealer salesman stole 70% of the purchase price. The dealer owner verbally promised he would make me whole. The owner now appears to be reneging on everything. Even the price agreed upon is now higher. I'm being asked to pay again by wire transfer ( or certified check) the $3500 stolen.

I don't want to pay twice and I don't think I can do business with folks who have been totally unreliable. I've allowed myself to loose too much sleep. I'm still taking steps to recover my money.

But life goes on and I'm moving on.

Here's the good news!

Sei Giorni's are very low in inventory everywhere. I've looked.

But I found a beautiful mint 2022 at a dealer with super low miles ( less than 100) and none of the add on charges dealers usually get. I have a deposit on it. I think it's beautiful and it will have almost two years of warranty.

So, I do not get my silver 2016, but I get a different new machine that I will love. It will arrive in Sunny Florida by the end of the month.

Good call, I've been seriously shopping for a used 300 as well but from what I've been seeing in CA, late model used GTS and GTV 300 prices plus sales tax, don't leave a lot of room over new 2022 OTD prices for new tires, battery, fluids and any mechanical surprises that may come up.

Tomorrow Monday 11/27 a "new to me" scooter will arrive in good shape or it won't. I'll have more and with photos if and when a truck backs into my driveway. Yes I have excitement and apprehension. This hasn't been easy.

But, it's just a Vespa. Life will go on either way. I'm guardedly optimistic.

My 2016 GTV is almost certainly history. Have not yet received the $3500 stolen yet, but I expect I will from the bank. The dealer has been non- communicative and I don't know why.

So I kept looking for the next Vespa of my dreams and found it in Texas. A 2022 Sei Giorni with 56 miles so no dealer fees but at a Vespa dealer. Bought it, paid, and had a UShip trucker get it.

It arrived this morning in perfect shape. Not a scratch. I was nervous but selected a trucker with lots of great reviews moving motorcycles.

I've had my first short ride and I describe it as smooth solid power!

Buying this last Vespa was a hard ride. We learn and move on. It has ended well

I also think it's beautiful.

Your new arrival looks great and I suspect in the end you will be happier with it than the 2016. Hope you get the mess on it sorted out and your money back.

Yes that's a nice looking bike. It looks a lot like mine but mine didn't have the sticker numbers on it, they were probably taken off. I do like my green color better, but it's almost the same bike. Mine was from Texas, too. I got mine from El Paso Vespa.

I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with either. Pretty sure both are wonderful machines. But the one I have is the one I love.
