Believe it not, it was Hot and windy in Minnesota as my
riding group headed SW from the Twin Cities to SW
Minnesota across the State Boarder into South Dakota
over night at an American Indian Casino/Hotel in Flandreau
South Dakota.

This is flat land Minnesota as you look right and left from
your scooter with corn fields as far as your eye can see.

In one stretch of the ride, we rode 68 miles without one
town. Just farms and fields. I asked myself, where do
these people get groceries, fuel or send their kids to school.

Just another adventure is Frost Bite Falls Minnesota.
Without the Frostite. It was 98 degrees and windy.

The hardy crew.

Soooo? How is the Kymco? How does it compare to the Burgy? Is it comfy, well powered, handling?

Thanks for asking.

The Suzuki Burgman 400/650, in my opinion, have really been the bench mark
in Maxi-Scooters. Handling, storage and looks. I preferred the lighter 400.
I had my Burgman 400 from new for 14 riding season. Freeway capable and
and easy to move around the garage.

When I found out the 2022 Kymco AD550 was only 498 lbs (Burgman 400 474 lbs)
I became interested. I could get the relatively same weight with more power.

Reaction to the Kymco:

1. Slightly higher seat and slightly longer reach to the handle bars.

2. Power Plus! I had to get use to much more low in take off power. I was
actually jerky on the throttle. I now have it down and love the more powerful
550cc engine.

3. Handling is as amazing as the Burgman.

4. Electronics are off the chart good. I still have not mastered all the
functions. Three separate screens on the dash with multiple settings for
each screen. You can put a down loaded photo of your girl friend on the
middle screen. Younger nerds would love all this stuff. All I need is a
speedo and fuel gauge. First time I have had hand grip warmers 3 levels - amazing.
There are so many electronics, you have to plug the scoot into a tender
if you are not going to ride it for several weeks.

Summary - new and exciting. It is much like the Burgman 400 with more power.

I do miss the Burgman.

In with the new. Even looks like the Burgman.
