Well...it bit me. I have a 2018 Street Twin, bought new end of 2019. Last month, 5 months out of the 2-year warranty, the bike started occasionally refusing to turn on. Immobilizer light would be on when it wouldn't start. Within a week of first symptom, the immobilizer just wouldn't disengage at all. Two weeks in the shop and the verdict today is the immobilizer antenna is intermittently failing. The entire ignition assembly has to be replaced: it comes as a unit & the circuit is more than just the antenna wire.
So...now I have to decide how long I want to be without my bike. A little while longer and have one key for the ignition, one key for the gas cap & seat...or keep it at one Triumph key and wait who knows how long for a complete lock set to become available in stock so the dealership can order it.

Bike's been unridable since last week of May. I get to go in tomorrow morning and make a decision. I'm... not happy right now, particularly because this waited until the warranty ended to surface.

Sadly yet another example of electronic immobilisers on motorbikes causing more grief than they prevent.

Far better to have a hidden kill-switch that only you, the owner, knows how to operate.

Yup. I thought about selling my Bonneville SE for a Street Twin or possibly even a Speed Twin, but stuff like this is why I keep my SE. Sorry, might be time for diagnostics. Does your Triumph still use the OBD2 thingy?
