I'm not sure who has heard of the DALL-E project, but in a nutshell it's AI that creates images based on plain language. You can read about it below.

https://openai.com/dall-e-2/

I got in to the beta this morning, and have been blown away by the results. It gives you 6 options, here are a few, with the words used to create the images below the image. I have used up my 50 image generations for the day.

(^^^ ROFL emoticon Old McDonald had a farm...)

NICE! Clap emoticon

Just curious, how long does it typically have to 'think' and on what hardware before the images appear?

I haven't timed it, but I would guess 10-15 seconds max. It feels a little long because I'm so used to immediate results, but it's really not very long considering the results.

I haven't dug into what hardware they are using, but it seems to be intensive and the reasoning behind their 50 image generation requests per 24 hours policy.

Another one I tried...

Do you always get the same image if you enter the same text or is there some element of randomness to the algorithm. Miguel

Okay, I was somewhat impressed by the previous results, but this is seriously good. (And scary, my previous punning aside.)

As far as I can tell, it creates new images for every request.
