Depends.

If it's just minor, cosmetic rust and isn't gonna be exposed to the elements on a regular basis I would probably clean it with scotch bright and then apply Owatrol or simiilar to preserve and prevent further damage.

If it's not gonna be garage kept, and have reg exposure to water, salt etc, or you have some serious rust spots then I would clean and use phospho to convert. Then, it's dealers choice on touch up paint (have it done with professional paint guns), or the previously mentioned owatral treatment.

YMMV, 2 cents, FWIW, etc, etc

I will keep it my garage and only ride it on sunny days, so perhaps I will just leave it as it is
