I am finally in the latter stages of putting my p200 engine back together. Just buttoned up the cases, and installed the honed cylinder and head. I put the flywheel side oil seal in place by hand and then tapped it home with a circular drift but it quickly dropped in deeper than the lip of the case opening (see pic). Is this okay or is it in too far (deep) and will compromise the bearing or something? Would hate to have to, but I'm ready to try and extract and reseat it if I have to.
I don't like going too deep with the fly side seal. Reason being is that the side of the seal can block off part of that tiny oil gallery that lubricates the needle bearings.
