Just a heads up to those wanting to remove the rear wheel, 1 get the longest breaker bar you have for 1/2 inch deep sockets, 2 once you have removed the cotter pin and cap get some heat on that 22mm bolt holding wheel on for 5 minutes, I used a hairdryer on full heat, and then with the scooter on the floor tilt lock on and not on center stand at this point away you go, and trust me this bolt is really locked down tight, so if you are not strong or have any bone or muscle problems get someone strong to do it, maybe a beer works wonders.

And now part 2 ready for some humble cupcake, got everything back on the bike new tyres etc, low and behold rear wheel would not spin, thought to myself have I over torqued the nut, so I took everything back off, then realized I had put the canonical spacer the wrong way round, so as i tightened the spacer went into the swing arm hole, hell of a job to get it out, eventually did at the cost of smashing my bearing, so part 3 will be new bearing and clip, hopefully it will just drop in and not need a press, hoping the freezer hack will work.

I am changing my own rear wheel on a 2021 mp3 500 and what they call "the clamp" will not come off. All the nuts and the spring clip are off but the clamp wiggles but won't come off?

Used a crow bar and fulcrum to push it off. There will be an issue with the clamp for the muffler. The bolt is bent, it unthreaded but I will need to replace it. Can I match it at Home Despot?

Very nice, Thank You.
The wheel is off, this was the first time changing a rear scooter tire. It's off the rim, which was quite difficult for me, I hope the mounting goes easier. Are these different lengths? Is this HD Link 80mm in length and the Piaggio doesn't really mention it. I will bring it with me. I would appreciate being able to get one locally. |

I believe the HD picture is a generic one for every M8 length. But this is HD - the item maybe wishful-ware and not exist at all!
