Modern Vespa

Ok, I just ordered the wrong side of turn signal wiring, have brand spanking new chassis side turn signal connectors in my scooter spare parts box.

While I'm working on my next order, I know someone here posted they made the part aka bodged something temporarily. I was thing I have some aluminium and steel rivets. Maybe slide one in plastic and solder to wire for now?

My bodge probably won't ever get fixed unless it quits.

Basic steps:

Knocked Mandrel out of a 1/8" SS rivet, have a box laying around from another project.

3mm is about right, allows you to insert stripped wire sheathing into plastic and not have anything exposed.

Inserted rivet shank into plastic insulating bushing.

Stripped wire about 1/2", tinned, pushed through shank and soldered to rivet head and shank.

Cut excess off with cutters.

Filed top smooth to rivet head.
