Good morning. Wondered if anyone is aware of what's in the pipeline for Vespa in 2023? Longer range, faster elletrica…? New colors…etc?

The 300 is getting a PHEV option. Pet carrier is replaced with a battery pack and auxiliary drive mounted to the right side. Shorty exhaust to give the needed space. 30 mile electric range. Acceleration is insane.
HPE engine getting a larger sump. Now holds 4.2l of oil. 13 inch wheels for the 150s. All models get whitewalls as standard. Variators switching to sliders instead of rollers. New paint colours all round.

In line with new Euro standards they'll be offering a left handed 150 model for those that way inclined. All nuts and bolts will be lefty tighty, righty loosy.

Hello all - first post from a soon to be Vespa owner. (Just ordered my wife a Pic Nic 150 and trying to decide on one of my own). Recently discovered this forum as I research all things Vespa and seems like a great online community!
Hope this is the right thread to reply for this... Been in the market for a GTS 300 for a few months. I've been talking to my local Vespa dealer, and asking about inventory, new shipments as I try to decide which color. And was just recently told that they are no longer taking orders on any 300's. She said that they don't know what's going to happen to the 300's or if they are going to continue it or replace it with something else. Just that Piaggio rep said they can't order any was very "mum" on details and wouldn't elaborate. So now I can't order a 2023 300. Anyone else hearing anything similar from their dealers? I really can't imagine they are discontinuing the 300's but if for some reason they are, I'd want to get a 2022 somewhere while I still can. But on the other hand if they are going to be releasing a new and improved model, then I wouldn't mind waiting for the 2023, even if it takes a while, especially as the peak riding season isn't much longer. Any thoughts or experiences? |

First, welcome to MV.
I think two possibilities... 1. They're tweaking the current model, and rdleasing a 650 cc cruiser....or, 2. Italy's on holiday and Vespa can't be bothered to talk about next year. ...then there's the chance not much will change. They just did some major retooling on the GTS and I doubt they'll do it again soon. |

Thanks for the warm welcome! I think you're right - forgot about the summer holiday, so maybe that's all it is. I'll post back if I hear anything more definitive. Now to decide if I allow my eagerness to get the better of my and pull the trigger on a 2022 or be patient and see if any new colors or updates are worth waiting for on the 23's.

Here's a video I ran across on YouTube from a vlogger in Viet Nam. You'll have to set it to auto-translate into your preferred language, but he shows a camouflaged, seemingly updated GTS for release possibly later this year or in early 2023: https://youtu.be/DI-s4gW0f0Y
Here's a link to a post on his blog about it; there are a couple of pictures there: https://xiphoreview-wordpress-com.translate.goog/2022/05/11/ro-ri-hinh-anh-vespa-gts-the-he-moi-chay-thu/?_x_tr_sl=vi&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp Quote: According to preliminary observations and leaked information, this new GTS model will still use the same engine and body frame as its predecessor. Significant changes can be mentioned in the accompanying technology equipment such as: The rearview mirror has an elongated hexagonal shape. - Equipped with Smartkey lock. – The rim is changed to shiny stainless steel like Sprint. – The plastic cover below the key is connected. – The rear lights change the LED pattern from round to square. – Upgraded LED turn signals and changed shapes and textures. – Add details of separate license plate lights. - Change the wheel texture. Here's a second blog entry with a little more information and a photo showing more of the taped-up GTS. There looks to be tape on the leg shield, too: https://xiphoreview-wordpress-com.translate.goog/2022/06/08/tiep-tuc-ro-ri-nhieu-chi-tiet-ve-vespa-gts-moi-2023-voi-nhieu-nang-cap/?_x_tr_sl=vi&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp Quote: The details of the changes on the new generation Vespa GTS 2023, outlined by the Poker Street Review in the video https://youtu.be/DI-s4gW0f0Y , have been confirmed more clearly through the photo above, and the upgrades are definitely there. are listed as follows: – GTS rearview mirror has an elongated hexagonal shape. – Equipped with Smartkey lock on Vespa GTS. – GTS rims are changed to shiny stainless steel like Sprint. – The plastic cover below the key is connected. – Vespa GTS taillights change the LED pattern from round to square. – Vespa GTS turn signal lights upgrade LED and change shape and texture. – Add details of separate license plate lights on Vespa GTS 2023. – Change the texture of Vespa GTS 2023 wheels. |

Certainly seems like valid advance information, but none of it seems in any way ground breaking. Some of the items mentioned , like the turnsignals, are already different on the Asian models than on the North American ones. What does that leave you? The most obvious item is the hexagonal mirrors. Well.......

I just wish they'd get some newish colors for the GTS Super (and the basic Sprint 150, too). I probably won't be in the market for a new scoot until next year, but it seems as if the choices have been black, yellow, red, and white for a long time now--more metallic options wouldn't be a bad thing, imo.

Don't forget that USA/CA MY 2023 Vespas (the Model Year thing is purely North America) will be produced on totally separate production runs from the RoTW (Rest of The World, European) models, and may have substantial differences. So for NA, wait until Piaggio USA announces something.
