It's chrome (I guess, as it has various rust patches). No markings that I can see. After taking a close look at it, it's certainly old but I'm not sure that it's original. It seems to stand out from the bodywork a fair bit, where I would have expected original trim to be flush.

Some years they did crimped aluminum, and some years Motovespa used bolt-on, but all the info I have found regarding the bolt-on has been conflicting. Chrome/steal/MV factory made/3rd party import? It's a tough answer to get.

I think they're available at most of the European online stores. Mine came from a store in Italy, but others have them too. The design varies a bit and I rejected a couple before I came across the one you see in the pics. I had to move the rear lamp a few mm lower to clear the rubber supports, but I'm pleased with the result.
