I was recently studying the wiring diagram for the supertech and comparing it to the gts hpe and saw that the oil alarm is only wired to the dash and not the ecu. This surprised me as I would have expected the ecu to benefit from knowing about the oil so it could stop the engine if no pressure (maybe after a few minutes to allow for slooshing and also for the oil pump to start pressure etc)

note 1: on the supertech the dash retransmits this on the can bus and then the pmp2 (bluetooth) module sees it and in turn my app then has access to it.
note 2: on a gts hpe the dash doesn't have can bus so even if you install the pmp2 module it won't have access to the oil alarm.

Your electrical understanding makes me dizzy. I know very little about how electricity works. I do know to not let out the magic smoke from relays and such.

Cutting out on the freeway or an intersection because of a bad oil pressure sensor is maybe worse than the engine grenading from actual low pressure.

yeah, thought of that as I was writing but I was thinking that it could slow you down gently or something? or maybe once you drop to a lower speed then limit you from accelerating up again.

or very simply have it not let you accelerate directly after starting the bike until the oil pressure is reached. ie keep you at idle
