This isn't scooter related, but MV is the place to go for expert advice on all kinds of topics.

I have a Samsung color laser printer (model CLX-3305FW) that's worked well for years. Lately, it's been reporting "Paper jam in tray 1" and refusing to print. There really isn't any paper jam -- I suspect there's just a dirty sensor somewhere. After a number of times pulling out the paper tray and opening & closing the rear access door, sometimes it does print.

Does anyone have any advice on what type of places I could take this printer for repair? "Geek Squad"? Or some other office equipment service place? Any advice on trying to repair this myself? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Thanks, NightWing, that's the kind of answer I was looking for. I'll give it a try.

I would suggest using compressed air to blow out dust bunnies etc through the printer innards. If you are going to wipe anything down instead of using windex or water based solutions, I would suggest using isopropyl alcohol, as it will evaporate faster and you don't want moisture sticking around.

I tried that, including use of isopropyl alcohol. No luck. I also tried a different brand of paper.

Nightwing's answer is very good. if there is a roller kit available buy it. If not, at least clean the ones you can reach.

Samsung sold their entire printer biz to HP a few years back, HP is killing it in favor of HP branded gear (of course).

On the very off-chance you CAN find parts for what is now a white elephant device, in a supply-chain strangled industry, dont.

It's had a good run sounds like, time to move on.

Fixed! Wouldn't you know...the tiniest most insignificant piece was causing the error! Following a YouTube video, I replaced a tiny, worn-out, rubber pad in the solenoid that engages the paper pick-up roller. A bit of an old bicycle tube, a drop of super glue, and an afternoon was all it took.
