Has anyone gotten an order or spoken to anyone from SM of late? I've got some parts on order from Scooter Center (via SM) and I've been trying to reach David or Matthew about the status but noone has answered the phone for about a week now and emails have gone equally unanswered. I'm not worried they're out of business but I'd like to try to sort out how to get my scoot back on the road or at least get a timeline for when I can expect to be back up and running.

At this point I'm ready to buy another BGM kit from whoever has one to get the base gaskets and rings and then I'll just sit on the piston, cylinder and head as hot spares.

Scooter center shipping can take a while. Probably just waiting on the delivery of your parts.

But they're German! The model of efficiency.

Seriously though, if anyone wants to buy a BGM 177 in about 3 weeks when the rings and base gasket show up, I'll buy it now and then sell it to you once replacement parts arrive.

Did you know about this? Thanks Scooter Mercato, I just found it and you can look up original VIN info maybe a little easier than ScooterHelp & even dimensions on your bike!

https://www.scootermercato.com/Garage/VIN-Info-What-Model-Do-I-Have

Not sure how I found it, was searching for tires ...

I clicked on 10" largeframe and they are all there. Here's the page for Sprints

Yea they don't reply to me either. Phone, email. Nothing. Only called me back because my card declined the shipping charge. I guess when youre overwhelmed with many customers, you don't need to have good customer service and a couple hundred bucks order from another customer. I had to order from SIP since I couldn't confirm a few parts spec.

I'm at the final stages of my Smallstate motor build, so they probably just can't keep up with my one-part-at-a-time order volume.

My wife says I should just place one order a week. I told her, "Honey, that would be great if I knew what I was gonna break tomorrow."

Quick note of caution to keep in line with forum rules… no bashing dealers… it just doesn't help anyone. Granted no one is bashing SM here, but please keep that in mind.

SM is especially supportive of this website and it's members. So if they are crazy busy and slow to respond please afford them some slack. David and Matt are invaluable to us knuckleheads and I suspect if something is delayed they can't help it and/or will always make it right in the end. The curse of their incredible customer service is that when it slips towards the average it seems like an aberration.

Carry on

I talked to Hal. I did miss Hal's email last week. We are good at filling orders but can be crap at email or phone at times. It all kind gets to bee too much at times. Parts are on the way from europe.

Right now we are getting on average of 50-70 scam calls a day on top of customer calls. make me want to turn the phone off altogether.

I wonder if a simple phone tree would eliminate the bulk of the scam calls.

I'm the "complainant" here, but honestly I wasn't bitching, I was just curious if anyone knew something I didn't. Being without a scoot has got me all antsy. Who know I actually needed as many scoots as Voodoo to keep one on the road? As a religious SM customer it makes me nervous to think I might not have my standby supplier anymore, but I now know that's not the case yet. I guess I just need to keep breaking shit and buying more scooter parts.

Also, for the record the only scam calls I make to SM are to ask if any of these people are there:

-Jacques Strap
-Al Coholic
-Oliver Klozoff
-Seymour Butz
-Mike Rotch
-Hugh Jass
-Bea O'Problem
-Ivana Tinkle
-Anita Bath
-Maya Buttreeks
-Eura Snotball
-Ollie Tabooger
-Ahmed Adoudi
-Ima Weiner
-Maya Normusbutt
-Drew P. Weiner
-Yuri Nator
and Tess T. Culls

It amazes me people can complain about anything mercato does. They think they are a f'ing call center, help desk and a gossip line. Call about the littlest things and complain if they don't get a call back. F'ing degenerates.. It's all about you I guess. Call sip if you can or send them an email and see what happens. People want the cheapest prices and 24 hour customer service.
I've been to mercato and they are not setup to take your stupid calls. Two guys in a shop (most of the time one guy) using a phone while they work to talk to your impatient ass about a cow's chewed up digested grass. "I just wanna know blah blah blah... I'm too old to place an order on the internet.... What's up with my special order because I'm too cheap and impatient to place an order directly overseas.... How I do this or that". What ever it is send an email if you call and can't get them and wait a week or so. Don't pester these nice guys or post anything about that crap here. You can really post whatever you want but expect to get you baby feelings hurt.. if they ain't hurt already. This shit ain't life or death. I'll promise they will not take as long as SIP to get back to you crying little girls and they don't want your money for something that's not right.
These dudes take the time to help and go beyond and above but you want it each and every time. They've been around for decades but if you don't hear from them within a short period of time some act like the world will stop turning.

Realize they have been doing this before most of you thought about a vespa. Give free shit to any scooter rally in the USA and help this community get what they need. From me just guessing, they are too nice of guys to tell you what I just said so I'll say the obvious. Get your panties out your crack by yourself or do you need them to help you with that too.

PS. Not directed at anyone specifically but if I threw a rock in the crowd and your head hurts... Come at me whining bro!

BTW, anyone see that catch the Steelers wide receiver did last night...

All depends on the phone system.

Based on having been the corporate "owner" of the phone system in a few past lives, it comes with its own set of challenges, starting with the fact that most people hammer the zero for "operator" as soon as they hear the automated voice.

I usually have issues with getting an extension to get an invoice.

I've also learned that you have to change it up every year or two to keep folks from mashing the "zero" once they learn what it is.

Then we'd get loyal customers/patients complaining that they could no longer speed through the tree to reach their ultimate leaf node. It's truly a no-win situation.

And we haven't even gotten to the internal politics of who goes where in the tree. That's total FML territory there.

Of fuck yeah I did. I'm not even an NFL fan (NBA), but that was a spectacular save. Good use of an analogy, by the way
