My dealer in Toronto Canada ordered a small part (tilt-lock pressure switch) from Piaggio Italy 4 months ago.
Does anybody have any ideas of what's happening with this hold-up?
Is it an issue with world-wide shipping in general or just Piaggio?

I've lost an entire season of riding with this. There are other body repairs needed that makes the bike unrideable (blown over in a windstorm in May), but the switch takes priority before the fairing R&R.

Is there any other source for this part?

What's your dealer going to charge you? It's £154 in the UK from Fowlers.

@DennisL I order two of them in July 30 this year in af1racing.com (part number 640295) in the USA and costs $152.46 each one + shipping.

The best price I find in the moment.

If you like I can see that have one in stock:

It must be a pretty standard oil pressure switch. If you can measure the thread diameter and pitch, you should be able to find a replacement that'd fit much cheaper than the Piaggio price.

To my dealer:
I just got a reply from Modern Vespa that Scooterwest has the part…but…it will cost $208(Cdn) + $62(Cdn) shipping!!
Is this going to be the same cost to me coming from Italy via your order?

His reply:
With the current exchange rate it will be almost double what we charge
