Probably an anti-dive arm if the patent drawing became a reality…

Interesting. But not something I'd want the first version of. Remember the way Piaggio dumped ESS

BTW I hate the new fork cover as I find my fork cover gets very very dirty, ie it is protecting my front shock from a hell of a lot of crap

First detailed photos. Switches look terrible quality wise. Speedo looks nice, that fake carbon horn cover will probably deteriorate with time (happened many times before with their fake carbon on Gileras, Typhoons, etc.)...

Fake carbon fiber + plasticky "chrome" + dated piano black trim that will show micro scratches. This does not look premium. This looks tired. Hate to say it.

Weird that the seat switch is on the handlebars, but w/e.

I'm guessing the joystick on the left (between the switches for the brights and the turn signals) is a replacement for the MODE button? Seems weird to give a control you basically never use placement amongst the things you use all the time.

Ha, I was wondering what the lock on the bars was for! That makes sense.

My guess is all the while-moving stuff goes on the non-throttle side, and the stuff they want discourage while moving like ASR and seat lock go on the throttle side.

That primavera/sprint turn signal control is not a welcome addition, the 2022 GTS indicator buttons were much easier to use.

I hate the handlebar switch clusters and what they have done to the taillight and numberplate light.

Haha! Indeed it's weird, but I bet it has something to do with the phone connection on the speedo. Man though, if that thing is going to say "phone not connected" all the time until you do, then that's super annoying.

I can't imagine they're going to stuff turn-by-turn directions and SMS messages on there? What do you supertech owners think?

I'll be waiting for more colors. Let's hope we'll also see a new green Racing Sixties since it's the only one I was interested in buying. I would really liked if they offered rim choices. They just added the 12" Primavera rims on this one. Asian market Vespas get two really nice rims the rest of us don't…

I am betting that little box will show the same info as the little box on the super tech. Just shows current song, incoming/missed call and I can't for the life of me remember if it shows texts or not, guess I will have to pay attention next time I am on mine, but I don't recall getting any text notifications. I mean I love my gts but the supertech part I could totally live without. The navigation is ok, but I much prefer Apple/Google maps over it. I do like the digital speed read out more then I thought I would though.

I won't lie: before I fell into the "opportunity" (if you can call it that, painful as it was) to own a SuperTech, and was still tooling around on Melody, my reaction to the GTS HPE's was thus:

- TFT screen? Cool, I guess, but…does it really fit with the rest of the bike?

- Key-fob seat-popper? C'mon, that's just silly!

- Built-in Bluetooth? I, uh…wish that came standard on my bike...

- LEDs? Um…yeah, wish I had those, too...

Et Cetera.

Fast-forward to now, and…I love all that stuff on the 'Tech. (Well, he temp gauge has a few well-known issues, but I'm glad it's there nonetheless.) And once her recently-added smackdown blemish is fixed, we'll be back to rainbows shooting out of unicorn's tuchus'. But I'll admit I find some of the '23 bike's changes are a tad questionable: I do like the new ana/digi dash arrangement (I see some BV-series influence here), but the new switchgear and housing? Not so hot. Taillight/rear turn-signals? Neither here nor there: I prefer the changes they made with the HPE lights in back, which kinda-sorta hark back to the GT 200. I'm agnostic on the keyless thing as well.

But, look: if all this keeps the thing fresh enough in the public eye to keep selling briskly, who am I to complain over details like these?

Not to me, at least. I look at this as an attempt to bring back a bit more of the GTS250's data-rich "hybrid" display, which the current iteration sort-of tiptoed toward, with the SuperTech display simply being its own thing.

Well the Piaggio design team really know how to cheapen a premium product......

'Right guys, how can we make the 2023 GTS look more cheap desirable?'

'l know, how about adding some nice plasticky looking chrome switch housings?, we could even add some cheap looking switches to compliment them' - A great idea!

Any changes to the front?

'Yep, let's add a fake, Carbon Fibre effect horn cover?' - Now we're talking!

Now, we need to add some stylish body designs, any ideas?......

'I've got it!,......... Let's place some tacky black vinyl decals to the rear of the cowlings' - A brilliant idea!

Finally, how can we improve the functionality of the scooter?....

'Let's scrap the ignition keys, they're SO 20th century. It's not like the electronics are going to fail with a keyless fob, are they?, and a replacement fob will be cheaper and easier to obtain than a key, won't it?' - On the money!

'I have it!, wait for it........Let's make the bag hook SQUARE instead of ROUND!!!' - Inspired thinking!

'The 2023 model is going to sell like hot cakes, well done lads'! (celebratory pat on backs and head for the nearest boozer).

I'd miss the big turn arrow and directions etc of my supertech when touring (eg the last two days i was touring - i do a lot).

I feel the display is halfway between the gts and supertech for functionality

Hi guys.
Lovely to see so much information regarding the new GTS

I had a 2019 Vespa Gts super 300 Hpe. Just sold it, to prepare for the next season with the new model..

In my 4 years experience with that bike in my opinion the weakest points were.

1:First wheel suspension.
I had to replace it with a bitubo. As far as i can understand from the previous post they are adjusting something with it. Hopefully they will fix it. If not satisfied yet i hope the bitubo suspesion will still fit on the new model so i can put it back again because i didnt sell it with my vespa.
Even the rear suspension needs a bit of improvement.
2: variator Transmission
I didnt like to much the take off on low rpm. Specially in the heavy traffic. To much judder. I read that they may be adjust the variator with balls instead of rollers, and i hope may be will be smoother. Lets see.
3: Phone Support.
The phone support actually it is standart in every premium scooter (Honda, Yamaha, BMW) and seeing that will be included is a very helpful feature specially when in the city you have the phone in the pocket.
4: Oil Level indicator.
I have seen videos on you tube for oil tanks with the level. It would have been great if they include this feature in the new model. Being an engine which consume oil it would have been a great help.

Overall the 2019 version was a lovely bike, made 11000 km with it absolutely no problems at all, enjoyed everyday riding it, and had lovely tours. It would have been fantastic if they include a bigger engine with better consumption, and lovely colors aswell.

With the power and heating issues Europe will be having, I highly doubt anyone cares for the electric crap…

Hmm…is that a "break-away" notch I espy in the brake lever?

Not a terrible idea, actually, *if* that's the idea.

With new suspension and brakes and the HPE engine, it should be nearly as good as my 2015 and 2018 models. Except for the looks.

Well...besides those awfully cheap looking switches, cheap chrome switch covers, that tail light and license plate light bulge, the speedo itself, turn signals, tiny bar ends, sprint mirrors, and the non matching wheel color, it doesn't look too bad You know for basically around 9K OTD who are they marketing this for? I wonder how much more I will have to pay for these features I don't even want...

Good question. If I was in the market to buy a GTS, I'd be looking for a used, low mileage one that has been lovingly cherished by it's previous owner. A lot cheaper than a new one and comes without those controversial 'modifications'.

Well I definitely don't regret getting a '22 now. Besides the led turn signals and new dash, I don't really wish I had any of the other new features (unless there's better mechanics and handling). My girlfriend just traded in her '16 sprint for a '22 primavera and her sprint was a better quality machine. Seems like Vespa is starting to cheap out a little bit on things. Same with my 2020 VW Gti. My 2017 vw golf was better built. Guess that's the trend with manufacturers. Too bad the prices aren't going down to reflect that.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha....LOL....!!! Well stated Touring300.... I can just hear the marketing specialists having this conversation...

Well the Piaggio design team really know how to cheapen a premium product......

''Right guys, how can we make the 2023 GTS look more cheap desirable?"

[color=blue]'The 2023 model is going to sell like hot cakes, well done lads'! celebratory pat on backs and head for the nearest boozer
