Well today I had the opportunity to check my speed with a radar station setup by the local law enforcement. When I approached it the reading by the radar was 26 mph, while my speedometer read approx 31 mph. So an error is there. I wondered why it seemed I was never going the correct speed. I guess the only fix for this will be to use a GPS to read the actual speed.

Is this on your GT200, on your electric bike, or do you have an MP3?

If NOT an MP3, please post in the General Discussion forum, as this one is for the three-wheeled Piaggio MP3 scooters.

All vehicles (bikes & cars) indicate slightly higher than actual.

On average, the speedo of the vehicle will indicate up to 5% above actual.

sorry not true on ALL vehicles reading higher.

my 2020 ram truck reads spot on at each and every MPH reader on the side of the road I pass. my wife's subaru reads spot on as well. in the 70's I had a penton dirt bike that had a VDO speedo that was spot on, my old GS 1000s Suzuki was maybe 1 mph generous.

All European civilian vehicles will read fast - by law. As much discussed here on MV, posts passim.
