I recommend the mounts from SP Connect.
Mount on the mirror + cell phone specific case or universal case, the latter is water resistant. https://sp-connect.com/collections/universal/products/universal?variant=42332610363592 The Mirror-Mount is available in two versions: https://sp-connect.com/collections/motorbike/products/mirror-mount and https://sp-connect.com/collections/motorbike/products/mirror-mount-pro The standard mirror-mount is perfectly adequate Note: there are depending on the selected components also sets (including mirror-mount and phone case) ATTENTION: with smartphones, vibrations can damage the camera (Apple warns against this!), so always order the anti-vibration module as well! https://sp-connect.com/collections/motorbike/products/anti-vibration-module |

I use a RAM mount (with claw attachment), which lets me pick the case I want to use. I've heard good things about LifeProof cases for waterproofness.
I've heard a few things about Quadlock and I plan on looking into them further when my RAM mount dies, but you're limited to their case and you should get the vibration dampening thingit. |

Not to hijack...but mini-hijacking I'll-give-it-right-back...
RAM used to be THE standard and then it seems everyone migrated to quadlock. ...Why is that? |

Quadlock, I'm a delivery rider. My phone gets taken off and put back on the mount at least 80 times a day.
It hasn't suffered any wear and is still going strong after 3 years. Plenty of riders have moved from other manufacturers to using a Quadlock. The phone case is tough, dropped my phone plenty of times and it hasn't suffered any damage. They do have a waterproof jacket but I have never used it, so I can't comment on it's effectiveness. |

+1 for SP connect. I use all there products from the scooter, to bikes to car. Piaggio backed product. Other guys in my club use quad lock with great success also...

As for the waterproofing, aren't most modern phones generally waterproof down to a certain number of meters for a certain amount of time? All of my recent Android phones have been. I don't really worry about keeping the phone away from some incidental water, I just try to not drop it in the tub. |

I love baking expensive phones in the Sun for several hours at a time on a hot summers day.

I tried getting a Quad Lock for my trip to Vietnam, but it didn't assemble as expected. When I tried attaching and detaching my phone on the mount, it took the bolt with it, and there's no good way to get it out. I still haven't heard back from their customer support team, two weeks later.
A buddy of mine swears by Peak Design's cases. They have a handlebar mount, and a ball mount. I'll probably try that next, although it's a bummer they don't have a built-in charger. As I was heading to the east coast of Italy for the final leg of my Vespa tour, I stopped in Florence for a quick pizza lunch. When I got out, I realized someone had snatched the 6" USB cable that kept my phone charged. I still don't understand why people pull shit like that. Finding a cheap/short USB cable to replace it on my way out of town was not a fun way to spend an hour.
The one I rented in Italy had a handlebar mount at the end of the grip
Ummmmmmm… by Quad Lock

I've used quad lock for a long time nd it's great and reliable.
But i decided to try Peak Design because its magnetic mount is great and the case is a bit less bulky.I always had to struggle to get the quad lock lined up. The Peak design is straight on and will not come off. On my Sei Giorni which has the GTV exposed handlebar I used a bar mount with the 1" ball. Then an extender and finally a ball mount peak design. This raises the phone so I barely have to glance down and slightly to the left to see it and it's closer. I've done the same think on my Sprint. Starts with mirror mount with 1" ball. Then same as here. Quad lock has the head on 1" ball as well.
Peak Design head with 1" ball.
Shows handle bar attachment with 1" ball. Made by Ram. Then extender with 1" ball on both ends. Them Peak Design Head on 1" ball.

I stopped by the Peak Design store on my way home from work. They're out of stock on the Pixel 7 case across the US, but it looks like the Tokyo store might have one if I can finagle that.
I'm considering getting a RAM ball mirror mount, and then the Peak Design ball clip moto mount. Makes it easier to install/remove, and gives me freedom to adjust the height and angle along the mirror stalk. |

The Tokyo store is closed the week I'll be there, and shipping in Asia costs twice what second day air does here, with imprecise arrival times to boot. Thankfully, I was able to find a friend in New York to snag me one of the last Pixel 7 Pro cases by Peak Design in the US. She's gonna ship it to me.
I'm weirdly excited about this. Not only does this make mounting the phone for a ride easy, but it unlocks all sorts of accessories. For instance, there are MagSafe battery packs that will magnetically attach to the back of your phone and top up your battery while you're away from the wall. I'm seriously tempted to grab one as a just-in-case for my tour. I did just buy a new phone to try to alleviate battery woes, but worrying about your phone dying when you're out and about is not a fun way to spend a trip. Might be a problem that $25 can give me insurance against. |
