Picked up an ET4 about 5 weeks ago with 11k miles that wasn't starting, had some body damage, and had been sitting in a garage for 2+ years. I picked it up for only $500. Spent a lot of time looking through the forums (thanks JIMC, you ROCK!) and after tracing wires, checking the meter, replacing the spark plug, replacing the relays, etc. finally managed to get it running.

The attached pic was from early on.

Thanks! I spent a lot of time looking for just the right 'project'. This past spring our neighbor offered my wife her LX150 for only 1k. I borrowed it so often she told me to go find my own but it had to be a Vespa and not just any old scooter and it had to cost less than hers.

Here is her LX150 with the FV Alaska Ocean. If you have ever had a McDonald's filet-o-fish sandwich it's a good chance that the fish was caught by this boat.

All cleaned up and put back together. I think it looks pretty good for 20 years old. The stickers were on it when I bought it but have been removed. I think I've come up with a plan to cover up the battle scars. Previous owner appears to have tried to touch up some of the scratches but didn't quite match the color.

Looks lovely. Almost mint (no pun intended).

Battle scars look like mere kisses (from the pics anyway), so I'd keep it as it is. 👍

I managed to commute to work for a couple of days before it started sputtering and it wouldn't go above 12-15 mph. I've ordered a new fuel line and pet cock fuel valve and should have those installed in the next few days. Here's hoping that solves the issue. I did manage to get it home and pair it with the wife's scoot. In just six short months we went from having no scooters to now having His and Her Vespa's. I can't wait for the warmer riding weather when we can take them out together.

I'll see if I can get better pics of how the touch up paint and the missing paint really stands out on this minty green. It's all good though thanks to other posts on MV I'm going with a combo of magnets and decals.

Scarlet. Playing off the word scar for the battle wounds. I miss my ET2. It was the same color.

My friend who bought my 2010 300 GTS just informed me that he found an ET4 with 2300 miles. Got it for $1200. Seems reasonable to me IF it runs OK. That remains to be seen as he said it has been sitting for years but was running 8 months ago.....I haven't seen it, was supposed to help him pick it up today but it is freezing, windy and snowing off and on. He said it is red.

Now the thing is, he said he is not a Vespa guy, has always ridden HD's but bought the ET4 for an investment. I might like to have a second Vespa in MY garage........
