Actually restoring a VBA , I was wondering where to mount a hidden switch in order to avoid someone to kick and start the vespa ?

I could take the kick lever with me but not very practical

But think how cool you'd look walking around the shops with a kick lever hanging from your belt. Add a mohawk and some safety pins on your leather jacket and you'd be the talk of the town.

Seriously, there aren't a whole lot of places on a VBA for hidden switches. Unless you want to install a glovebox. But don't do that.

I would maybe repurpose an existing switch. Maybe in the tank area you could put a bluetooth type kill switch, so that it disconnects the power wire to the coil or grounds the kill wire? You would of course have to replace the battery once and awhile.

I also want a solution for this.

Mine has no battery !
I was thinking about an on/off switch under the left side panel for example, close to the regulator. Is there a wire from/to the regulator that could work ?

No steering lock?

You "could" run a single wire under the tank to a switch inside the left cowl.
Switch connected to chassis ground and wire connected to the kill wire in your junction box.

Steering lock is not enough, some stupid could kick start the engine and do whatever damn thing.

I'm not sure what country you're in, but in the UK or the US, the thieves just wheel motorbikes into a van or throw them in the back of a truck. Here in Thailand, motorbikes are often wheeled away quietly at night. Starting the engine happens later, back at the thieves' den.
A switch is just a very light deterrent for a thief. A heavy lock and chain is better.

I had toyed with the idea of hooking a switch up under the seat in the air intake with a simple bracket using the seat bolts but haven't.

Speedy just sits there, not much chance anyone else would be able to get it started, and if they did, generally when they TRY to ride it, people fall off pretty quickly!
