Robot has a video where he shows their set of 4 new indicator led tinted lights for a GTS/GTV and how to install.

I think they are both beautiful and functional. The problem is that they are $247.99. That includes the 4 lights and necessary cables. Also the lights are switchback which adds daylight running lights when not in turn signal mode. Includes new flasher relay for LED's so you don't get rapid flash.

I'm looking for an economy version of this.
1. Upgrade the single analog bulb to LED.
2. Tint the lens of the OEM indicators already on the bike.

One member znomit recommended a smoke spray paint. It's meant for plastic models. But it's designed to be sprayed from the inside and that's not possible with indicator lights. But he got it to look good sprayed on the outside.

Then on another video I heard Robot mention sending a part out for tint wrapping. That's all he said and that led me to Amazon and back to YouTube
Skip to the last few seconds to see the result. He gives the product name which is available on Amazon.

So I can spray the lens for about $10 or smoke tint wrap it for about $15

Anyone used tint wrap?

Is there a switchback LED bulb so I could get the DRL feature?
Just found these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303153006524?epid=20020258748&hash=item469553c7bc:g:k-UAAOSwbEZbGgjB

The economy approach is about $20 for the 4 LED bulbs and $15 for tinting. So I can spend $35 and do a lot of work and later splurge for the $248![/b]

There are a couple of threads here where I installed the smoked lights from aliexpress .... identical to the scooterwest set... for about $140.

I also did another Vespa in switchback bulbs, front and back, for about $40.

In both instances, I used a led flasher relay to avoid the use of load resistors.

Another option is to use a smoke paint sold my the Tamiya model company used to paint Lexan bodies. I have used this for years to 'tint' the windows of my R/C car bodies and it has always worked well. You can apply as many coats as needed to get the desired look. Less than $10 a can and you could likely spray the lenses of several bikes with the one can.

Yes, that's the stuff I mentioned that znomit recommended. Thanks much for the link. I'm wondering how well it will hold up on the exterior of the indicator lens. I found it on EBay for $11 including shipping.

Bring them to a shop that tints cars. They can wrap them with a price of scrap for $20. It is always removable in the future if you change your mind.

If I was going to tint indicators I'd use the wrap. That way if I change my mind later, go to sell it or it gets damaged somehow it could be removed to restore the original look.

Ha! I'd guess a car tinting shops here would charge $20 to come into the shop and much more to wrap them. But I'm just guessing.

They did mine back in 2009 for $20 but they were already removed from the scooter and they wanted cash. I think they wanted to buy lunch with the money.
Goes by what shop you go to.

I'm sure you are right.

Here many many million dollar cars we lost in the hurricane two months ago. I might guess the tint shops are busy and flush with cash. Over 80,000 cars were lost.

I heard about a month ago that 18 Vespas were submerged in salt water and returned to Vespa Naples.

wrapping the chrome in what? I ordered the blue Supertech and all the silver is an odd matt so is there a wrap for the chrome to make it matt?

I don't have mine yet but since all the rest of the trim on the white Super Sport is black, I'll be using a black wrap whether it is glossy, matt or carbon fiber will depend on what I see when I get it. There are titanium and aluminum wraps available which might have the effect of matt metal.

Today I used the light smoke wrap (details in previous post) to treat the big chrome trim surrounding the rear brake light. I'm pretty happy with the result. I pretty much slapped it on to see how it would look.

Also the black rear folding rack from Sip arrived, eliminating more chrome.

Next, the leg shield trim is plastic chrome. Replacing it is expensive and a major dismantle. I'm going to wrap it instead of replacing it. Pictures to follow.

Yes, appears a dealer did it too, wiring is tight and they even left original socket rubber boots zip tied to new wiring.

Bill, your new Vespa was worth the wait, it's even nicer than the silver one that fell through.

Thanks much. Loosing the silver one and $3500 was very very painful. It was basically stolen. But I really love the new Sei Giorni and I'm having a blast with it.

Here's the tinted rear indicator light with a new LED bulb. I'd say it's bright enough.
