Any ideas on a replacement battery for my 1973 90?
Does it need the battery?
I'm also looking for a carb kit
Thanks

I don't think you need a battery. What's under the left panel? A battery was typically to power the lights when the scooter was off but the key in the ACC position. It was a US DOT safety thing. I don't even see a key on your headset.

Carb rebuild kit:

I alternate between mercato and scooterwest. Wait till you are sure of what you need and make one big order rather than 5 small ones.

You can find the appropriate battery and a rebuild kit from quite a few online places. See here:

I always start with the US shops and then if I can't find what I need, go to the European ones.

Good luck!

it should be a 6V but anything is possible and could have been eliminated, changed or upgraded, it might be printed on the side too.

show us a pic!

btw: 3 caps on top usually means 6V and 6 caps 12V

I would replace it with an AGM style battery, it's not vented and saves on corrosion around battery or vent tube. You can see what looks like corrosion was painted over with black paint in background.

Just throw it out, not buy a new one, and convert to non-battery. Apparently, it's not too difficult, but don't ask me how to do that.
