I went through the Fabio thread and ended up with this:
7.7g rollers (average)
98 main jet
70cc kit
17.5 carb
Leo Vince touring exhaust
tighter clutch springs
Malossi variator
It seems a bit sluggish to me and it takes me a bit to hit 40mph. Almost feels that I'm at WOT when I'm only around 3/4 throttle. I don't really hear any difference in the rev's after 3/4. Any suggestions?
Roller weights will depend on the year of your bike. Later ones used lighter rollers from the outset AFAIK... but you have a Malossi variator, so that throws my knowledge off a bit - not sure what their 'factory equivalent' weight would be.
I went from 6.4g factory, to 5.7g (in a standard variator). 2001 bike.
If you have a cast iron 70cc kit (and standard airbox), I'd say that a 98 main jet is way too high for use with a 17.5 carb and leo vince touring exhaust. Try working your way down to 78 instead.
Mine runs fine with a mid-70s jet, combined with the 70cc cast iron kit and single layer malossi filter (in a standard airbox), and a Tecnigas Silent Pro exhaust (which isn't too dissimilar to the Leo V Touring exhaust?).
Also check your torque driver moves smoothly, and that your belt is within spec.
