Working on a split headset vespa with square speedo The new speedocable inner is too big to lodge into back of speedo unit.Did i get the wrong one..???fits sweet at hub end....ie are there different size speedo inner cables at speedo end?
Update already .the cable fits on another speedo of same kind.sooooo suspecting piece of broken cable up inside preventing new one entry. If i dismantle the speedo will i have acess to the other side and thus be able to maybe drive it out...or upon seeing the other side of the inner cable square drive ,will it be closed over ,negating the fckn process?
Do you still have the Speedo cable that you're replacing? If so you can inspect the Speedo end and see where and how it broke. This way you can come up with a plan to extract the stuck piece. I am assuming the cable end is made by pressing a round spiral wound cable into a square shape at the ends instead of a square sleeve attached the end. If this is the case, you may be able to use a small sheet metal screw and screw it into the broken piece and pull it out it pieces.
