Hello everybody.
On the last few rides after riding for about 30 minutes, the motor has cut out while sitting at a red light. I try to start it and there is nothing. After waiting for 15 seconds it starts and performs normally. There are no warning lights that come on. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

As is so often the case when talking about starting an internal combustion engine, this statement is tremendously ambiguous and leads to lots of miscommunication. If everyone reading this takes one thing from this thread, it's the importance of clarifying what you mean, exactly, when you say an engine won't start.

A) Do you mean that you turn the key (or press the button) and get silence?
B) Do you mean that you turn the key and the engine turns over but does not fire?

This is important.

Thank you. I press the button and there is silence.

Excellent! That very much narrows down the issue.

My first guess is that it's a problem with the interlock -- either the brake isn't being depressed enough, or there's a problem with the brake switch. A cheap and easy experiment, when this problem happens, would be to try holding the other brake while starting to see if it changes.

If one brake works but the other does not (in this context) then it's probably a dodgy brake switch.

Next possibility is that the kill switch (if equipped) is dodgy -- flipping it back and forth a couple of times is worth trying.

Ruminating further, the brake switch explanation doesn't make sense for why the engine cut out to begin with. But the kill switch definitely does.

My Della 300 did that,
It was the kill switch ,
I flicked it a few times and it sorted it.
