Hi, i'm about to 1st start my vba with an LML 150 5 ports engine.

What spark plug should I use ? The head accepts a long thread spark plug but SC references a short one (B8hs) for this engine.

What percentage of oil should I mix to petrol ? 2, 3, 5 % ? It is a new engine, is the mix different for breaking in period ?

Concerning the carb, what do you recommend as base setting for the carb mix and idle screws? I've heard 2 1/2 turns for the mix, no idea for the idle.
It is a 20/20 with factory jets

Thanks

Super important not to have any spark plug threads exposed. This will glow and cause detonation. Bad. Pic not a bad idea if you are unsure.

there will be opinions... suggest - 2.5% and a nice quality synthetic like Motol. No need or reason to go with more or less than normal. Don't hang on any one RPM. keep running it up through the revs - rings will seat nicely.

Seems good. Idle - 1000-1200 range.

Other's can weigh in with their own opinions/experience.

Just to add that AFAIK using a short NGK "H" spark in place of a "E" will lower the compression, as it makes the compression chamber bigger. If you consider the size of the chamber and the fact that compression only starts after closing the exhaust windows, this is a significant.

For the running in period you should use 2-3% of the cheapest and most basic mineral 2t oil. If you use too fancy oils, it will likely make your running in period longer.
