Took a thirty mile trip on my new to me 2007 gtss250 ie. Temp hit 60 f and I could not resist a ride on my nearly safe to me Vespa ( a few more tlc items left to do)The joy and just fun of being able to just ride for the pleasure it brings I wish ALL could experience has come back in my life after too many years not riding. Sure wish dyna beads would arrive soon 75 mph on interstate 77 sure let me know my tires needed to be balance better. 70mph was ok and anything under 65 was just a joy. When spring breaks I hope to meet some other mv'ers for some short get togethers before I tackle a ride to Shrevesport area and back. (app 2000 miles)plan to have learned the scoop o posting pictures on this new fangled internet thingy. Might even aquire one of those wireless phones that I hear use some kind of CELLS. many have insisted I need to have one as phone booths have all but vanished. Getting aged has some good points-- ya know and used many items the youngsters have never heard of and would not know how to use if the were gifted one. Merry Chistmas and a better new year to all, may the future let some of us meet and enjoy a strangers experience that differs from ours.

Frank, you my want to check over in the MP3 forum for the Spring and Fall gathering. They pick a spot in Virginia, North Varolina, Tennessee, Georgia or other place in the general area and spend a few days with like minded riders roaming the excellent riding roads in those area and conversing around the campfire in the evenings. Started as an MP3 event but a variety of different scoots and some bikes show up now. There is also an annual Maggie Valley Beat the Heat ride usually around the first week of August where a bunch of scooter riders 20-40 last couple years show up to ride and socialize, kind of an unruly concept.

I may try starting a Vespa club if I find none close by, of course other brand scoots would be welcome to ride along with the Vespa's. |

I almost forgot the smells you will smell on a motorbike, BBQ, cigar smoke, two stroke oil, old cars, hamburgers, tar, perfume, everything, sage brush, eucalyptus, everything under the moon and sun, I can go on all day. What color is your Vespa? I'll post up a reasonable facsimile of "Frank's new Vespa" |

Frank Thomas,
You captured the experience. Sailing also has the same kind of sensation. On my Vespa, I am hooked on the wind in your face, the motion balance as you curve around (Almost like a gyroscope). Welcome. I also am older (74) and became a photo posting addict once I figured how to do it. Bob Copeland Frostbite Falls Minnesota ![]() ![]() |
