But I refuse to let the English language die such a death. I stand up for the letter 'U' in colour and weird spellings like 'gaol' and I refuse to resort to replacing the word 'you' with 'u'.

Call me a pedant and you'd be right on the money. Of course this is a useful trait when writing code else the number of bugs would result in extremely buggy software - I guess this is why the there's so many crap apps and websites as no one else seems to care anymore.
