Just got it a few weeks ago, haven't been avoiding the freeways just haven't had a reason until today.

This little beast flys, easily got up to 80 on the odometer,
smooth and fast on a very dodgy stretch of freeway,
you know the ones, near constant state of construction,
cement slabs don't line up, cracks running horizontal and diagonal through the lanes but the GTS handled it well at full speed,
full attention was necessary but not sketchy at all.

Ever been on a freeway before on a motorcycle? I'd think it makes a big difference in your confident ride.

I find that multi lane, high speed roads are the safest roads we can ride on, I would also say the most dangerous thing about them is mentally switching off through boredom and not noticing a vehicle braking in front of you.

Oh, seizing a Lambretta in the fast lane whilst overtaking can be a bit hairy though!

Yes, I've had many motorcycles and lots of freeway miles.

My problem is, like many here, I can't get on a motorcycle and not get it up over triple digits, they are just so fast and smooth.
Fastest I've ever been is 167mph on an 03 R1.
I recently sold my Z900RS that one only did 143mph.

I like scootering much better, keeps me out of trouble, better utility for the city and just a mellow good time.

I'd bet you're also getting some great rides in on your magnificent new beast too.

I'd have to agree with you but the best roads are smooth, 1 lane each way canyon roads.

I also hear you on the boredom/white-zoning thing.

Anyone else ever watch Dan Dan the fireman rider safety videos?
He's all about not white-zoning out and looking for sides of vehicles.

I find my GTV 300 fast enough. No freeways to speak of only I-5 Central Valley.

In my faster, faster days I once got a performance ticket for 35 mph over.

While not my fastest ticket. It was during lunch break while attending TRAFFIC SCHOOL!
