Modern Vespa

As a v1.0 effort, not too awful, but the thing's looks do absolutely nothing for me. Pig-heavy, although I suppose at this point it can't be helped much.

Well too rich for my blood but take a look at the rate of acceleration on the speedometer. It might be ugly but no one is going to laugh at you when the light turns green.

That is typically electric: accelerates as hell, but do that a few times in a row and you can start looking for a charging station.

Too much $$ for me for something I could only ride to Wally World and back without it being a 2 day trip. And then I still could get as much as I do with my GTS. Too heavy. It does accel and sound quiet, but I need storage and range.

I'm looking forward to the day an EV if practical in rural/suburban areas.

Classically useless range.

Can't ride from one side of town to the other and back again.

The 60 to 80 mile range mentioned is much more acceptable on a small, slow urban scooter.

One capable of running 75 mph will tempt a rider to actually ride somewhere.

A 9 hour charge on a 110 plug or a 2 hour charge on a fast charge, every 60 miles would get old quickly.

But that range on a 50 to 125cc equivalent scooter should work quite well, as a rider is much less likely to try to go far out of town.

That said, the CE-04 would still work for me 4 out of 5 days.

God bless the first adopters but wake me when it,
"charges" as fast as my GTS,
goes as far as a tank of gas,
has good storage,
costs less
and looks as good.

Trouble is, the greater the battery, the heavier the bike - which often ruins the experience. I think the future is more in fast charging, rather than range. I'd want something lighter that can add a decent charge in a 10-15 minute stop.

I much prefer the look and style of the BMW CE-02, although it's only a concept at this stage, so they still need to add mud guards / fenders etc.

Not impressed by either of them. I understand the idea of trying to find an EV alternative, but those looks...

(And regarding fast acceleration: if I wanted to be fast, I wouldn't ride a Vespa. I'd buy a crotch rocket instead. I ride the scooter to get my mind to rest, instead of trying to outpace the competition.)

I hope to ride my GTS until the very last drop of fuel has been sold!

There are a LOT of electric bike being ridden in my beach-town. And there are a LOT of EV bikes that look like the CE-02, especially popular with younger people. I don't care for the aesthetics either but the problem is you're just too old to appreciate the look.😎

The bike is clearly aimed at urban commuters, not long distance adventurers, I'm guessing.

Just bought one....kinda fascinated by electric propulsion...keeping my two Vespa 300s, too, of course.
