There's some Arizona folks on here. I'm sure one of them would go check it out for you.

Where in Arizona is it?

I'll echo the statements: go see it, or ask a forum member if they'd go check it out or know it, or who's selling it. or buy from a *known* forum member.

if you're buying blind the chances of you winding up with a crapped out shitbox are very high.

post up some pics or a link and we're happy to weigh in with opinions.

Hey Kyle,

I'm with Greasy on this one. Also, ScooterMercato is close to you. And Lee Lux. Both places would be worthwhile to know you're getting something solid.

Just want the best possible outcome for you!

Yeah, you have a couple of great local resources there who might definitely have a line on a local option.

And as Tierney mentioned, I have a semi-rebadged Stella I bought in a package deal that I rebuilt for a friend who then changed their mind about the deal that I'd be willing to deal on because I'm sick of it taking up room in my workshop.

My vote for buying from a forum member. I bought 2 scooters that way from one owner and I couldn't have asked for better. Not just a fair deal, but lots of help making it happen, ongoing help and advice and a big load of spare parts shipped free long after the sale. First class people.

Scooter Mercato could probably find or get a scooter together for you if you called them. Also first class people.

I had for sale a PX150 up for sale about 4 years ago on Oregon craigslist. A guy from Socal contacted me who wanted it. I scoffed it off for about a week but he kept contacting me. After we talked a couple times on the phone we came up with a plan that he was comfortable with...I brought the PX over to the local Vespa shop for their mechanic to look over (for a fee that the buyer paid via paypal to the Vespa shop). The potential buyer got REAL lucky that the Vespa shop frequently ships scooters around the country, so he got a smoking deal on a shipping price with the shop (i think around $300ish?). The potential buyer ended up sending me the entire paypal amount while the PX was still at the Vespa shop. I can't remember if i simply left the title in the glovebox or if i mailed it to him via certified letter. He was 100% happy with the scooter until he rode it. He said he almost crashed because the rear brake was nonexistent. He called me up on the phone VERY frustrated about it. I was confused and he thought i took advantage of him. Finally i said. "you know the rear brake lever is located on the floor, right?" The other end of the phone went quite...

Yeah, alot rides on reputation.
I sold and shipped a newer Burgman 400, (Dayton to Portland, )2400 miles to a fellow Burgman forum member. When his bank check cleared I let the truckers roll it out of my garage for its journey, with the title.
O.S..

Dave will do right by you

And the term for what just almost happened is "affinity fraud," for those who like to get academic about this sort of thing. It's when someone is able to gain excess levels of trust by virtue of either being or appearing to be part of a group or community.

As even more of an aside, Multi-Level Marketing (aka Pyramid scams) are the most common form of affinity fraud, especially within religious communities for some reason.

Well he def wasnt going to get the full asking price. After he figured that out he said he would take a deposit. I almost agreed to that though.
