Is it me or ... I'm a novice, I've only had her a few months but it's winter here now, she fell over in a windstorm, and I want to put the trickle on it...it starts but I can't get the lock to even turn. Am I doing something stupid? Thanks and yeah I know this is a stealing thing or something but I guess I have to find a dealer unless it is something stupid I'm not thinking of.....thanks!!

don't shoot her!

The lock can get sorted without resorting to granicide.
(Is that a word?) IDK... and I know nothing about the LT150. If it is similar to modern vespas then you may find a faster answer on the General Discussion subforum as they deal with Modern Vespas on the regular... accordingly I will move this over there.

Welcome and good luck!!

I'm gonna guess something got knocked in a way that's preventing it from turning right, but beyond that, I'm not as familiar with the older modern Vespas. If it were me, my next step would be to curse at it in Klingon, plus a few other languages. Laughing emoticon I know there are others around here that are far more savvy when it comes to locks. Bumping the thread a bit here for ya...

I will say, just for your future reference, that the older model LT (yours) had a whole lot in common with the Vespa ET series. If you happen to search for things around here on MV and don't find what you need specific to the LT, try whatever applies to the ET.

was the key in the lock when it fell over? if so that could've damaged it.

it's a fairly robust level and rod system so the chances of it breaking without impact involving the key or a direct hard shot to the barrel itself are pretty slim.

do you have a lot of things stuffed under the seat? it may be jammed up. try compressing the rear of the seat near where the lock is while turning it.

make sure the key is ALL the way in, obviously. and try flipping it both ways just be sure it's not hanging up.

good luck!
