Did I hear a knock?...or are my ears just ringing as usual....

I may or may not have Chandlerman's GL engine. However, it may or may not (yet) be considered a spare, depending on how rusted out the internal's and cases are on My GL. Its locked up tight, even after penetrant oil soaking; and as such I have not yet peaked inside.

You could do a leak test by filling up motor with something like transmission fluid. I would put a tub or something underneath. Might loosen up motor internals.
