That's beautiful! I'm thinking about the grey one myself. Not sure if I want the Super Sport or the Super Tech. New to Vespa so I'm basing it off of looks.

The new Orange or White Super Sport models look terrific!

I think I prefer the White due to greater contrast with all the black details.

But either color is really nice.

I went back and forth between the two for weeks before pulling the trigger on the white one.

I seriously considered the GTV but couldn't get a definitive answer on whether the new suspension would be on it or not. It wasn't on the one they showed at ECIMA but the literature suggested it would be on the production model. There was also no I for on when it would actually ship but might not be sooner than May.

Scooterwest had the rear crash bars on sale so I sent a message asking if they would fit the 2023 GTS and they responded with "no" and they expected a shipment of 2023 specific bars in February. I found that interesting as Harbinger has crash bars on his which seem to be the older model.

Yeah that is really weird. I'd be surprised that the Toronto Piaggio dealer would get 2023 specific bars before a large US dealership in a more temperate zone. I think another user also posted that Lou was able to transfer his bars over on to a 2023 Super Sport. I'd email or text Lou to ask but he went down south with his family for what is I'm sure a very well-deserved break so don't want to bother him.

That's why I chose the Supertech.

The colour.

I REALLY wanted the orange or a more original colour but that black trim on the orange was just not for me so I ordered the blue Supertech.

I'm dying for it to come in spring.

That's the thing about design, we all have different tastes and Piaggio does a great job with the Vespa line and offering stylish choices. I love the black trim and it absolutely works for me. Same reason I really wanted the 40th anniversary BMW GSA is I'm just drawn to black with a strong accent colour.

gets an official ECU-Mapping (!!!)
to my understanding a standard Euro5 has a different mapping from a Euro4 to match the new exhaust which reputedly slightly reduced performance.

so that makes me wonder if this mapping that the dealer installs with that exhaust will sort of "restore" a Euro5 to be similar to a Euro4 + with sport exhaust performance.

The main difference between Euro 4 and Euro 5 on the GTS is, as far as I know, a second catalytic converter and lamba sensor. Whether the software is also different I do not know, probably yes. The performance data between Euro 4 and 5 are identical, at least on paper.

Exact documentation of the update for the Vespa sport exhaust is not available, nor does my dealer have any details on this. The Vespa exhaust itself comes with the same approval documents (ABE) as the Arrow.

Since the Vespa sport exhaust is SIMILAR to the Arrow (for which there is NO mapping), we have the following situation:

The mapping is NOT mandatory (because Arrow works without)!
Does it bring what? No idea, but if so, then Vespa would cannibalize the marketing side stronger... (and with a performance plus would probably also have to be separate approval documents).
Would I have it: Yes, even if the Vespa sport exhaust is more expensive than the Arrow. Why: because I find it more visually appealing than the Arrow.

Note: the Arrow or the Vespa sport exhaust both meet the minimum requirements for the Euro 5 emissions standard, otherwise there would be no approval (ABE).

I have no direct comparison, the Vespa sport exhaust has been mounted from the first kilometer from the dealer.

Clearly, louder than series, but not disturbing. According to the dealer, Arrow and Vespa (with mapping) sound identical.

Currently I am still in the break-in phase, move the Vespa therefore rather leisurely.

As a Vespa branded performance exhaust I imagine aesthetics and lighter weight are the selling features. For any kind of growl out of our Italian beauties I'm thinking we're looking as other manufacturers.

Is there are removal baffle? I don't like obnoxious exhausts at all but do enjoy a bit of a growl on my bikes. You can do that without having the neighbours curse you every time you pull in to the driveway.

I drive the exhaust as mounted by the dealer... The sound is deeper / muffled and a little louder. I like the sound, for my personal feeling, he should not be louder, that would bother me...

I have the feeling that it is now, after 900km, again minimally louder than at the beginning

The dB-killer is removable…

When we make the move to Vancouver Island in the fall I'm considering riding cross country to the new home. I've spoken to a few people that have done it and they've all said to go through the U.S. as there is tons of sites to take in. The Canadian Prairie provinces are apparently incredibly boring and just flat for KMs on end with few fuel fill-ups. I love my country but can only handle so much wheat.

Doing it on the the Vespa sounds like a great trip but if I do it it'll the the 1250GSA as it's built for that sort of thing. The Vespa I'll stick to pacific coast runs that aren't quit as much a challenge as almost coast to coast.

Just don't miss Calgary to the west coast. It's so beautiful and a bit crazy through Revelstoke but so worth it.

Before the quote I should post about the Vespa.

One thing I did want to mention on this thread is the improvement of where the floorboard meets the leg shield. The area under the glovebox is roomier and this is the first Vespa I've owned where I find I am not leaving boot marks above the floorboard. It might not be a drastic change but it is enough that I notice it and the rubber marks from my boots I always found a bit annoying.

The colour really is stunning and it changes a fair amount depending on the lighting. Well done Piaggio on this one.

Sometimes a cover is better than the original. I could list a ton of amazing cover songs but this is not the place. Of course the reminds me of the Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) which is a classic though more an example of B tracks gaining popularity. Now Nouvelle Vague is known for doing some if not great, then interesting covers in a Bossanova style.

Good advice.

I can't put in to words how much I am looking to riding on the island where things are way more laid back and not an Uber driver in sight. This city boy has seen enough of North American big city living to last a lifetime. Fortunately the Uber driver did not make that a literal statement and I'm just left with the scaring and achy knee.
