It was always the intent that the wiki should take advantage of the many-hands-makes-light-work principal, but in practice, very few people make edits. |

New suggestion.
How about removing 'Reviews' from the 'Reference' section of the 'Forum Index'. In 15 years it has only had 27 New Topics started on it. There is already a 'Reference' section under 'Wiki', so why not simply put 'Reviews' under 'Wiki' and give 'Wiki' it's own title at the bottom of the Forum Index. Or substitute 'Reviews' for something more useful, e.g. 'Maintenance Videos' and link any video clips that have been posted by members into this section. |

Also, the admin panel of this website (where such changes are made) has been broken for ages. Almost all the functionality that it used to contain has been moved to more modern interfaces that the mods and I use, except the bit that lets you create, delete, and rearrange subforums and categories. That's how long it's been since we changed the forum organization. So it should be interesting to see if I can do this modification without the help of the admin panel. |

On mobile layouts, there isn't any room there to use (the avatar occupies the whole left side) so I am using a lozenge (like the "NEW" lozenge) on the right-hand side. The color is the same purple. Thanks for the suggestion!

I may not be remembering well. There used to be a time I could attach pictures to PMS. It would be nice to have that back.

In the Forum Index, would it be possible to modify the Last Post box to include time as the individual forums do? Another idea could be to make the speech bubbles grey for no new posts or full color if someone has added a new post.
At a glance, you'd know if anything new has been added to a particular forum, and if anyone has made comments to exsisting posts since your last visit. It would save clicks. |

Perhaps just can create a how to make modern Vespa better discussion group. When is this going to end? You have been monopolizing the forum for over a month. For good reason but hell is full of good intentions. We need some space. For those people who want modern vespa back

How much adulation and clamor do you really need? Don't you think it's about time for you to stop. Do your s*** for the software but we don't need to know each and every step of the way.

Could image upload be augmented to support SVGs?
The use case I have in mind are the Scooted maps in everyones signatures. Would be cool to have them consistently be the right resolution (with smaller file sizes to boot). |

Just in case you all were wondering where these suggestions go, they go into my notebook(s). I had most of my MV notes (and there were a lot of them) in my 2020 bullet journal, but that was kind of messy and inappropriate, and it was almost full.
Yesterday I started a brand-new notebook for MV. It's the one on the bottom. ⚠️ Last edited by jess on UTC; edited 1 time

Am I reading this right? You want to get rid of cookies? Are you looking into something like Keycloak?

Der Blechfahrer wrote: Am I reading this right? You want to get rid of cookies? Are you looking into something like Keycloak? I did actually eliminate most of the cookies MV uses. We used to have 3 or 4 different cookies for logged in users, and maybe one or two for anonymous users. Now we have 1 login cookie token for registered users, and zero cookies for anonymous users that have never logged in. Anonymous users (and crawlers) are tracked only for the duration of their session, and strictly by a combination of IP address and user agent. If two anonymous users are at the same IP address and using the same browser user agent, they are considered the same session. As these are anonymous sessions, it doesn't matter -- there is no differentiation of the data each of them are seeing, any more than there would be if they had different IP addresses. This helps greatly to comply with the essential-cookies-only part of the EU cookie regulations, as the only cookie used is the single login token. You can examine the token if you like -- it's just an MD5 hash. |
