No "Started" anymore?
Betting the reason will be font size. I know it used to be there as I use it a lot. Could be my browser spontaneously subtly changed sizes a small amount. started is personally a more useful thing than favs. maybe a down arrow at the end to show all? ![]() |

For anyone interested, I could use some beta testing on some new code.
I've been refactoring the account profile page (this is the page where you change your forum settings and signature and whatnot) to use modern-ish web standards and generally improve the user experience. The actual content isn't any different, you still have access to the same settings, but it's presented in a new way. Oh, and one bit of it is still missing: as of this moment, there is no way to change your avatar. I'm working on that, but it's largely orthogonal to the rest of it. The old profile is still accessible in the usual place (under your user menu in the upper right corner, listed as "My Profile"). The new version can be found here: https://modernvespa.com/account/profile If you notice anything amiss or have any questions, I'm all ears. |

I've tweaked the layout a bit, shifted some things around, and generally tuned up the details. In particular, the text input boxes on mobile were causing the screen to zoom inward when selected -- which I think I've now fixed.
Still pondering what to do about the bio text to make it more obviously editable. |

jess wrote: Yeah, I am struggling with how to make that more obvious. There is a pencil that comes up when you move the mouse over the various bio texts, though that doesn't help people on phones (since no mouse). Still thinking on that one. Other then a different color text for the Bio info, maybe a different color background or adding some info about editing in parens next to the Bio title would be useful. Something like "Bio (click to right of each field to add bio info)". |

I think I've just about wrapped up all the loose ends of the new Account Profile page. You can now edit your avatar with an all-new avatar upload area, that includes pan and zoom on whatever you upload. All the usual image formats should be supported, along with heic and webp.
I would definitely appreciate it if some of you could give it a go and report back the results: https://modernvespa.com/account/profile |

So you end up having to clip something off, either on the top or the bottom. (Also, you're starting with an image that is less than the eventual avatar size of 250x250, so you lose some resolution in the process -- though this is not a fatal problem, as the image still looks pretty good.) If I manually resize the image canvas to make it square (adding more margin) then the avatar editor won't clip it. Not the best solution, as it requires manual intervention, but this is kind of a worst-case-scenario for a source image. ![]() Resized canvas

Hi jess - I just noticed an issue on the profile page: the website link is prefixed by "/forum/", so when you click it, you get a 404 here on Modern Vespa.
For example, on Ironfoot's page (that was linked from a post in the merch topic), the href in the <a> element is: href="/forum/http://www.doublegood.co.uk" Also, while I'm here, you could use a little CSS tweak to make the "Font Color" and "Font Size" controls match the others

Maybe already mentioned...
Firefox suddenly seems to be giving me the "IE Treachary - Post previously submitted" error when I click the submit button to reply to a thread. Doesn't happen every time, but occurs maybe 60% to 75% of the time. |

I could enlarge it (which would have resulted in cropping more stuff), but could not move it at all. The new image is one that I resized the canvas to 253x253 (it was originally 198x253). It allowed me to increase the size and shift it so that it looks the way it does now. So I'm guessing if the original image is smaller than 250x250, it will not allow for panning when not enlarged. |
