Sadly, I had to let this one go yesterday. Intestinal cancer finally caught up to him after being diagnosed 2 years ago. Of all the cats we've owned over the years Chuck was the only one to pick me as his person. I'll sure miss him.

^^ So sorry to hear about the cat's demise - a pet is always so hard to see leave us... I hope there'll be another for you when the time is right...

Walter, Digby, & Gemma are all bagged up and ready for the road trip to visit my MIL in Northwest Arkansas.

I buckle the seat belts and clip the carry handles to the shoulder strap with a climbing-rated carabiner for their safety in case of a crash.

We also give them 100mg of gabapentin each about an hour before we leave so that they sleep most of the 5-ish hour trip.

The puppy pads are there just in case they have an "accident" along the way. I've reused these for the last 6 trips, so they've been good so far.

I'm driving on an epic cross-country adventure in my camper van.

We have feral cats in our yard. There were two of them, but I've only seen one recently. If you look really close you can see a young tabby cat hiding in the bushes.

This morning while prepping the cats' breakfast, Digby jumped up on the counter, as per usual. Walter sat at my feet screaming at me to pick him up and put him on the counter, so I did. As I did, Digy was facing the corner, with his tail up, the usual position for his tail. Walter saw him and took a step towards him and started to lean forward, as if to sniff his butt. Instead of sniffing, though, he suddently lunged at Digby's scrotum with his mouth open and snapped at him. Digby, understandably shocked, bolted through the window to the atrium, while I scolded Walter for attempting to gum Digby's nuts. I told him he can do that if he wants, he just needs to be gentle.
